piece of shyt ss crome....well ive heard lots of smak n blah blah but ive had my manifold and hav beatn my car to death for almost a year but today on my way home from work i found my turbo just hanging and a loud noise alerted me of this :( ..il post the maddness pic 2mrro..bringin it to a shop 2mrro n gonna hav it rewelded and strengthened so i can avoid this

ouch............. from what I have read and seen they are hit amd miss.

Zachs brother has a SSAC catback for his 350z. The thing sounds and looks incredible. No disasters so far, I hope it stays that way

^ +1....it still performs welll...i guess chino didnt weld it to good or i neeed to fix the exhaust vibration 2 ;)

that's what happens when you pay 100 bucks for a manifold. I cant see how they can even buy the parts to make them, and even pay the $1 an hour to the workers

pay 100 for a manifold then give me 60$ to reweld the head flange and add more braces from the collector to the head flange. :)

I agree.... When Rick is done the manifold will be super strong. I have some pics of what he did to mine. If I can find them I will post one.

no pics yet :p the sil is sickness now man..u cant even hear it...and now itys ridn on cusco's thankz to madcow :)

The runners can still crack even though the weakest link is where they meet the flange. The metal is just too thin for these manifolds to ever be "strong". Everybody knows this and takes a risk when purchasing.

where gregs manifold cracked was due to ****ty welding on one of the collector flange brace, which then started to stress the collector until it cracked. During that process the runners where they attach to the head flange that were supporting all the weight, cracked.

The welds that are on the runners attaching the collector and to the head flange are fused together they might use .010" rod, which is nothing, there is hardly any body to the weld. With out any bead to hold the penetration from the heat, its worthless. Yes the runners are thin, they are more susceptible to cracking but i think if someone that knows what they are doing, goes over all welded areas it will hold up wayyyy better in the long run. I would definitely look into this route if I did not have the resources that I have. Cracking starts at the welded seams then it spreads else wear.
