Driver
First of all Thanks to every body that came out. And i want to apologize to every one for the major lack of run time. There are so many people that helped out, None of this would have been possible without all you guys. I have alot to say so please read.

To everyone that i have talked to and have posted on the suggestion thread, Thank you.
And i pretty much agree with all of them, except "find people that know what there doing". I think everyone that was with us meaning SFLdrifters did a great job. But to kinda explain why it was mess I will fill everyone in on what I had gone through that day.

1. seat time
When me and the owner had meet originally, I had stressed to him about having as much seat time as possible, I was supposed to be runnin the whole thing. He had originally wanted to have two other events that day, I had to talk him out of that ,thank God it rained and shut down the drag racing event. He had agreed to let us run untill dark, but he said he had to close down cause of lighting, (which cleared up) this guy was calling me constantlly, he was tring to get me to cut group C's runs short so he could run the dragsters, I was battling with him most of the day, Basically he didnt realize or know what he was doing, and unfortunatly he owns the track, and had all the money from the registrations. Bottom line i wont hold another event here unless i can get a signed agreement to have the track for atleast 12 hours, and dont plan on going over 30 cars.

2. Krails
I hate K rails but i do agree we needed more ,but again that was the owners responsiblity, i had requested to have atleast 1 K rail in the center for the photographers.
They also were suposed to have their people directing traffic and the crowd. Me, mike, sebastian, and some of the other guys had to deal with some of the dumbest rednecks in south fla, including the guy with the trailer.
3. I tried to get all media in for free, but the owner again bucked me and when i had asked him to get media in for free he said and i quote "no more then 2 or 3" i had laghed and said i would have atleast 10, he said no no thats way to many.
4. Front gate i need some girls to take care of that for me they seem to follow directions better.
5.Complete circle
We found out last minute like what mike said they were moving it, Plus we figued to double back would make it a longer run, and safer cause of the lack of k rails. the only guys that came close to them wer Erick, Ryan, Estie, Juan. Everyone else was atleast 10 feet away from the rails, but tell you the truth i didnt get to see most of the event.
And finally
I had giving the owner a full list of the drivers names and year make and model of everyones car before it started, im sure you herd him yelling at me in the begining "TIM" i cant read the numbers on the cars!! I spent over an hour tring to preset the driver groups so that he could anouce it corectly, but so much for that.

So finally i am very very sorry for the major lack of run time, and i take full responsiblity for the mess we had deal with, i should have lock down full control from the begining. I promise it will be better next time.

Tim you did an awsome job man. For what it was I give you props.

I agree on not sharing the track. I think you have proven that we can rnu an entire day with no gaps. Next event man if im not driving I will help you out with anything you need bro. I dunno about the drivers but I think this venue has incredible potential. Location is just about the best there is *even for me* how would we go about getting a little more asphalt built and whatnot.

Oh, where did you all get those baller gangster straw hats I demand one.

And another thing, where are the pics of the vert with the new wheels.........POAST THEM OR DIE!!!!!!!

Thanks again for putting this on. We appreciate all the effort it took. Sorry to hear the owner wants to run the show like that. If that 's how he plans on running future events you can definitely count me out. I thought it was b/c it was the first event and it was just a little unorganized but having someone who knows dick about drifting calling the shots will never work. Also, was group C really a beginer group? I kept hearing shit all day b/c of that dumb ass anouncer. Was that planned to be a beginer group and if so why was I in it? I heard they were trying to cut group C runs (I only got 3 the second runs) and that did not sit well.

I was glad to get the chance to tandem infront of all those people but I felt shitty doing it at the expense of everyone else's seat time. If I would not have had the tandem runs I would not have been happy with the event at all. I really hope the owner comes around and sees that drifting is here to stay and will draw as big or bigger crowds then drag. It was fun and I will run it again if it has the promise of improving from the last event.

Thank you again for all your hard work.

Things are more clear now, thats messed up on their part. They are the ones who keep saying we do this to keep people off the streets. Everyone else has said it already but you can clearly see that drifting brought out a very big crowd in SFL. It will just keep growning. I'm sure they will open their eyes. It really was a lot of fun drifting with such a big crowd going crazy at times. I'm a junkie now and I want more ;) . Oh and thanks, you did something big for drifters down here :bigthumbu .

PS You pretty much answered what I wanted to ask you before. If you need any help just ask, I'm sure many others will help too.

Thanks a lot Tim. I had a blast. Well, I was happy it started raining and we were able to go out and play again, but I wanted more. I left the place with the urge to slide more. I was complaining about not having enough tires for that place, because I heard it was a tire eater....... I never put my car on the jack the whole day. I slid my car with the tires I came and went home on.

The announcer needs to be replaced with Guillermo, and Guillermo can run SFLD Radio at Countyline. WTF IS UP NOW BITCHES!?

Also, I saw a lot of people driving like dicks around the entrance and staging lanes for the drifters. WTF!? You gotta get these people to act in an orderly fashion. From what I saw, it wasn't any of us drifters. It was just spectators. I don't want to lose a great venue because people drive like dicks when they are not on the track.

Vince mentioned parking for the drifters in another thread. Yeah, parking in the skidpad and walking back and forth was a bitch and a half. We should park where all the drag racers park. On the side of the road, so we can walk less.

Honestly in the begining i was going to have the more experianced guys in group A, reason was to free you guys up to do ride alongs with the first timers but after talking to bladder he made some very good points and desided to change the list and mix it up.
I not once told the owner C is beginer and B was intermediate.

Funny thing after the event first thing i did was drove over to the owner and toold him about the lack of seat time and said if i do an event this big again i need 730am till 730pm, he didnt like that. And get this, "this killed me" He told me this starts to get old after awhile, I Told Him
"So does the 1/8th mile" And when asked him if i could rent the track he said it would be 10,000$ for a day. It frustrates me i know he banked yesterday. I dont care about the money but you would think since i'm bringing in money for me he let me run the show.
:chair: I gotta stop thinking about it, But i learned alot.
Thanks again.
In the vid you can hear the owner he kept tring to shut it down and i want to keep sending you guys down but the crowd started walkin in the street.

Oh and the announcer was the owner

there were no groups, the way we did it was to mix advance and beginer drivers in each group... like that we didnt run the chane of a beginner group going for 2hrs, because of spin out like what happened in ocala a while back. The front gate was doing ok until 100 cars showed up in less than one hour, you can tell the ladies up front had never seen such a turn out before and they were pretty confused. We didnt know about the whole drag demo until this past saturday...we were dumbfounded but it was to late to call the shots the owner had the money already... Tim you are the man, you did a great job. This was a great event, you had to deal with a lot of shit and yet it was good. And to those who complaint about seat time, try going to a DG trial event you drive all the way to ocala and only get 12 runs for 120 bucks... Maybe the owner realizes the massive amount of people he had there, were just there to see drifting... no to see some dude going on a straight line..

tim i am goin to my homegurls house today and i am going to COMPLETELY redraw and try to fix and schedule everythingggggggg for the next event every problem will try to be addressed i will be calling you today so plz re pm me your number everyone bitching about there seat time as much as it sucked u guys drifted in peace chilled with friends free food cmon i would have payed the $50

Yea that was my bad for some reason i didnt reallize how far it was, i just wanted to keep the crowd out of our way. You know they would have been all over the cars and i didnt want anyone getting riped off while they were drifting.

I don't know how I would handle the owner if he is getting stupid like that, but I'd probably say, "Ok, I'll take my business else where." And he'll be calling you back to get drifting back, because drag racing ain't giving him the money we are. It's 15 bucks to race and 10 bucks to watch drag racing. I went one time and there was no more than 15 cars racing, and about 40-50 spectators. He maybe made 800 bucks that night.

There were 30 drifters registered, and rediculous crowd I couldn't count. And drifters were 55 bucks each. If he doesn't want to make money, I don't know what to say, but drifting is attracting a lot more crowds and drivers.

This is exactly what I found wrong, I had a feeling it had to do with somewhere up the chain, I respect you fully thanks for the event! good person and a positive to the scene so far.

On the real. Tim if you need help holding a event. Hit me up. I have ,flags, cones, radios and the knowledge i believe to help run a good event. Ill do anything it takes to help/ volunteer i have been doing so for the past 3 years. Let me know whatever you need. tell the announcer to stop having a heart attack on the mic and swing it this way. A good announcer will not only educate the crowd but will also explain better what is happening and not give people with a headaches because of all the shouting. Also good annoying makes it a better overall time for the crowd. More crowd more $. Let me know im here to help along with the rest of sfld.
