Considering 2012 was a successful year for the series, we took a hard look at everyones feedback. One main area of confusion lied in the way we determined who went on to the final event, even after countless attempts to explain the format. So to make things easier on everyone we have decided to change the format of the series to a more traditional layout. Below you will find a breakdown of the changes.

Each event will feature a qualifying session and Top 16 tandem eliminations. The top 32 drivers of the day will earn points to their overall points total. After four rounds the top 32 drivers in the overall points standings will only be allowed to register and compete at the final event.

Top 32 Qualifying

In the first four rounds only the Top 32 qualifiers will be rewarded points. Anyone that qualifies below this should try again at the next event. The best score out of your runs will determine your final score.

Top 16 Eliminations

This is where things get interesting and could get confusing for some so pay attention. From the 32, only the Top 16 will have the opportunity to tandem for extra points. Each of the Top 16 will be asked if they want to tandem. Those who don't will automatically be dropped to the lowest position based on their qualifying score. Those who tandem will battle whoever is left.

Why?

Since we understand not everyone wants to or is ready to tandem, we're giving drivers the option to back out and still be a part of the series by earning points. We hope that by the time the final event comes around, they will be ready and comfortable to tandem.

Dropped to the lowest position based on qualifying score?

Let's say the first, seventh, and the tenth qualifier don't want to tandem, the number one qualifier will drop to 14, the number seventh will drop to 15, and the number tenth will drop to 16.

What if I do want to tandem?

Great then you get a chance to earn more points. So if you qualified 16th then you have a chance to win the event earning you first place points.

What's different about points this year?

You may recall last year you were awarded points based on your qualifying score, we're doing away with that this year. You will receive a small set of points based on your qualifying. 17-32 will automatically have their final points calculated since they can't compete further. The rest will be determined based on the outcome of the Top 16 eliminations.

Hopefully by now you'll realize that we're running the series like any other one. If you're still confused or need clarification on something, post it below.
