thinking about attending UTI

I went to Wyotech and im in debt but like VAS im not hurting. It all depends on if you really want to learn about cars, all of these people who say "my friend" blah blah, your friend prolly dropped out cause there stupid and failed out or just fucked around thinking they already knew everything.

I have my own shop and build engines, paint, tune, suspension, roll cages, turbo manifolds, and way more, I make a decent living, im not rich but I can pay my student loans and not be hurting for cash. You really do learn alot of shit @ Wyotech and get to work on some pretty cool cars and actually learn from people who have alot of experience actually building race cars. And learning all the basics is really helpful cause most of the time you thought you knew something and then learn all kinds of other shit about it. They also pay for your ASE's and you get a 50% discount on Snap-On tools :bigthumbu

Oh and fuck even thinking about getting a job at a dealership, especially if your driving record sucks then you literally have 0% chance, and im talking like less then 2 tickets in the past 3-5 years. And it's really hard to get a job with 0 field experience.

yeah I had a job at a dealer and I hated life, the military is so much more chill.

well my brother went to broward community in their auto program and if was stupid cheap graduated in 16 months with not only his ase's but he also got a associates degree. then he decided to go to wyo tech and do the hot rod program and hated it wasted money out the ass for shit he already knew. id say got to bcc they help you get a job at a dealer off the bat and you can get free tools and shit. def worth it

oh i worked at 3 dealers and hated life working at a dealer pays better then a normal shop but it sucks hard

we talked about this the other day at moes shop didnt we, unless your a different person lol. but yeah i think uti is way to expensive, like i said if anything go to robert morgan an its pretty much free cause financial aid pays front begining to end an you end up getting about 1500 dollars every semester from financial aid, so that money right there for what ever you need or if you wanna go to uti after

uti biggest waste ever. especially when there are dealer specific classes you can take near you already. Theres toyota t ten, honda pact, dodge jeep chrysler and ford in broward and dade counties. i currently am in enrolled with toyota and it is definitely worth the 10k you end up paying. its not all up front, you pay about every three months. best part is, the place you in a dealership most of the time while you are in school or before you start

i am currently going to MMI (marine not motorcycle) and i love the school i have tons of knowledge in automotive and to be honest i cant stand the auto guys because there a bunch of morons! i heard wyo-tech is the way to go for automotive or uti's nascar course in NC but i have no personal experience or knowledge of those 2 i like looking into the nissan course but that's like and elective course that's separate from the actual UTI course so you would have to complete the boring basic auto classes before u can get a specific manufacturer certification, there are a few things i dont like about the MMI course but since i have a minimal amount of knowledge working with boats i have learned a lot in the 4 months I've been here and prefer learning it this way because boats are A LOT more complicated than cars in more ways than most people realize and the smallest part is expensive as hell and easy to destroy plus you have to worry about the abyc, the coast guard regulations and E.P.A standards ,so i am glad i came and learned things this way, but cars are so simple at-least to me they are,

ive been looking into this

im suprised at the amount of negative shit people have to say, but then again like somebody had mentioned, it could just be the people. Anybody else have any input?

UTI, Wyotech and so on are expensive for a reason. Alot of big name companies look to them to get there mechanics, you pay alot but get to meet certain people and get to do things other schools dream of doing.

And no I didn't go to that school.

Exactly!
I go to Uti, I went here with the intention of learning, and I learned so much, the people that trash talk it either haven't gone here, can't afford it, or didn't want to learn if they did come here,

I think it's an awesome school but that's just me
