timing chain tensioner

which motor ka, or sr

ka-there are two, one on the head, and one on the bottom end. if its the top one you need to remove the upper front cover, its the bottom one you need to remove both top and bottom front covers. if u need more details just post back any questions i will answer them the best i can

SR-On the intake side you will see on the side of the block towards the front a metal plate with two 12mm nuts on it thats the tensioner, just remove the bolts and the tensioner comes out, again post with questions if u need .

ok.

i need to know which tensioner is regurly removed when there's a rattling sound...btw thanks for the hoist.

its usually the top one. also while the valve cover is off take off the top chain guide nissan has tsb out on it, it likes to break off and fall down the front cover. but yes on the ka motor, the top chain tensioner is the one that usually takes a shit. and no problem given u that hoist, just tryn to help a fellow drifter, best luck with the car.
