Tomei lsd break-in????? HELP!!

Hey guys,

I'm installing a tomei lsd in my car right now... And the instructions are in japanese... what is the break-in for it? It's a tomei technical trax 2 way... Does anyone know of a website where I can find some instructions on it???

please help!! I don't want to mess up my break-in

When we broke-in this kid's diff we we're doing figure 8's for a good 1/2 hour. (Not sliding.... well.... occasionally towards the end :D)
 
ook.. It shows a pic of doing that in the instructions.. I just can't read japanese...

i'm looking on Nico and can't find a thing on this?? even on the USA-tomei website it doesn't have anything...
 
Use regular petrolium based gear oil ~ 80w90 GL5spec which you can buy at local store ~ Castrol or Penzoil. Just make sure the label says applicable for lsd use. Do the figure 8 with this cheap oil for 30/1hr at comfortable speed (10mph). 1/2 hour slackers all over the internet *Make sure you disengage the gear when turning (Push the clutch pedal down)* Replace oil when done with KAAZ or other high quality gear oil. Stay away from synthetics

thanks for the info.. I haven't recieved my tomei oil yet.. Is it ok just to run Mobil 1 75-90. It's the gc-5 or whatever..

Ughh i was afraid this wasnt going to get done.
 
What about backlash???

I can't find anything on nico.. or the internet...

This is a great LSD, I installed one just recently. No need to reshim it to reset backlash. Its just like kaaz, keep the shims in order as they came out and no need to set backlash unless it was off to begin with. Its pretty noisy but I love it. Locks hard and quick. Jump on this deal now before Tomei comes stateside, then the price is gonna get high, probably in the range of ATS.

To set the backlash takes patience and the proper tool. Yeah someone said it before how to do it by doing figure 8s. The straight part of the figure 8 accelerate a litte and then let is coast around the turing part of the 8(clutch should be pressed down during this part). You might want to bring along a friend, it gets so boring doing 8s for 45mins lol. A good lsd oil is Motul 90PA.
 
YESSS it's finally in... well like an hour ago, but yeah.

Its the Technical Trax advance 2 way.. I haven't driven it yet, I'm going to go break it in tomorrow after work.. I played with just spinning the wheels in the air in the garage and the diff feels tight.

Price: Good. :D

Install: Pumpkin with new diff is too heavy for my scrawny body.

Now I just need to figure out why my oil pressure light is on and I'll be good to go.
