people like this suck. such an american thing to do. I don't see Japanese people going to stop cause D1 exist. breakdancing went out of style. skating went out of style, bmx went out of style. shit falls apart but people who really love it hang in there and it always continues after these people give up one it. Igor has an EVO now how ironic is that. I remeber when nobody knew what an EVO was.
 
I sort of feel the same way though. Maybe its because I grip WAY more than I slide. We will see in the next few months I guess.
 
Maybe glitz and glamor aren't for everybody. Some people LIKE having that grassroots feel - something auto-x definitely has maintained over the years. But speaking of elitests, no group (as a whole) is worse than autoxers IMO.
 
what happened to that kid? o well if he doesnt want to have fun then suit him self, if you dont want to do it because of other people then you have problemes.
 
People like that do suck,

I think whats as bad or even worse is when people ask you what you do with your car and you say drift, but all they know of drifting is Tokyo Drift so they think you suck when they see your vids.. What's really bad is when you show them vids of pro's and they say they suck...

Drifting is all about passion. Without passion theres no point to being a drifter. There are people here in Ocala who say they drift, but only do it when there are other people around. They do it just because it's a mainframe idea right now. When auto cross was big, thats what they did, when drag racing. same. It's really the people who actually care about drifting who are going to be the ones who prevail in it. So I say if he doesn't have the passion for it, then... to bad. cause he ain't going no where in it.

yes you can have your opinion but ive autoX a few times and love it...seat time is everything even if your not sliding....i dont know if you mean the sport or the people that have ruined your thoughts about it oh well

I think I was pretty clear that I'm talking about the attitude of many of the drivers. I've heard shit like "an autoxer would make a good forumla one driver but a formula one driver would lose in an autox." Then again, drifters tend to think they are God's gift to car control too... Everybody thinks they're the shit I guess.

yes tj autoX is a great way to learn about your car and how to control it as ive gottin a bit better then my first time!

I never said that you couldn't learn anything from it. I Like to auto-x, it helps me improve as a driver.
 
Autocross is awesome but the regulars are usually pricks. I raced in the DC region and the Philly region and its true there too.
 
i hate mainstream.

media pwns anyhitng it gets ahold of.

i will love drifting always, same as skateboarding even tho it went mainstream...

Ya know that feeling when you stand on the throttle roasting the tires and balancing the angle effortlessly with the steering wheel....................................... Whether its a popular interest or not, Ill keep drifting as long as I can.
 
do whats fun to YOU

if it looses the fun.. stop doing it.

if its something u really love and have a passion for it, it will always be fun
