(Orangeburg) - Orangeburg County deputies say an accident between a state trooper and a suspect led to the discovery of a large amount of drugs.

The collision happened around 3:30 Sunday morning on Interstate 95.

Deputies say the suspect, 54-year-old Howard Fisher, hit the back of a trooper's cruiser.

Orangeburg County deputies came to the scene to investigate. When they did, they say they found 43 pounds of marijuana in Fisher's car.

The drugs are said to be worth about $150,000 on the street.

Fisher was arrested, and was denied bond Monday morning. He's charged with driving under the influence, possession of cocaine, and trafficking marijuana.

The trooper involved in the accident was said to have received minor injuries.

If you're going to drive around with 43lbs of teh weed in your car, it would probably be a good idea to do so sober.
