Truck Advice please

well josh's dad has a dodge diesel 6sp not auto, tows anything and everything up
the mountains with no problems at all. way better than his F250 diesel.

ford makes great diesels
wow i actually chuckled.

lies. do your research. the 7.3l from 99-03 falls apart underneath you, the 6.0L from 03-07 blows headgaskets and intercoolers constantly! ford has updated their ecu calibration software 5 times a month for the past 6 years, and still cant get it right. They finally got something goin in 08 with their 6.4L, but it has a DPF filter on the exhaust (regulated by epa) which causes horrible fuel consumption.

Chevy ftw!

the 7.3l's are pretty much bullet proof. but mpg sucks.

the 6.4 are poopy squat.

i got an 04.5 duramax thats coming up on 200k miles and only issues have been maintenance. My mechanic had an 03 duramax with almost 450k miles before it broke and he beat the piss out of it the whole time, but he ran a chip with it on extreme all the time.

only other option would be a cummins.

go chevy... the fords are known to have problematic head gasket issues like vas said. the dodges trannys are shit. chevy is the best choice.

i can tell you first hand the 7.3 ford motor will take getting the piss beat out of it allllll day long. i've done no research and havent played with other trucks... just my .02

dodge diesel with manual trans is the best option available cummins ftw reliable effiecent (sp?) rockstar!! I would never buy a ford diesel and if i had too it would be a 7.3 deff no 6liter they fail for real, and the new 6.4 they havent worked the bugs out yet. The duramax i have heard good things about but have no personal exp with. So hands down i would buy dodge and i hate everything mopar except thier diesel>everyone else

dodge trannys are made from barbies, puppy dog tails, and tampons

no offense bill fisher

gabedm can vouch for this, i have a 02 F250 7.3L crewcab pushing 700k miles... never had an issue and runs just as strong as the first day i bought her

pancho that year f350 has the best engine out of all of the super dutys. i wish i could get my hands on one. sometimes i wish i bought one instead of the f150 i got now. just for towing reasons
