hey all im like a noob at turbo. i wanted to kno what would be the perfect size intercooler for a t25

also whats the diference and benefits of internal and external w.g

and in ball bearing turbos and the other kind... *( i forgot)

*im going t25 on the ka, and i want to get the best most reliable setup i can. so i need all the info i can

thanks guys! :bigthumbu

t25 on a ka is way to small!!! go with like a t3/to4e .60ar front .63 reat 57 trim you will be very happy!

since the t25 is internally gated at 7psi, that give you the benefit of running it on the ka without a boost controller, if you wanna go higher boost then add on. smic or fmic is just fine, to whatever size you like the turbo can only spool so fast. make sure its well oiled and lubricated and ball bearing means its bigger and boosts at a higher rpm band. look up www.ka-t.org you'll get all the info you need.

I'm still a fan of T25 or T28 turbo ka's not the most power but at least 50whp is made on stock boost settings, you will have instant boost responce (really good for drifting) i see ALOT of sr's just have NO low end power which is fine, but with the ka already having a decent amount of low end torqe adding a small turbo IMO is perfect, the only downside is you will start to lose boost at high rpms but nothing major, plus you shouldnt be reving your ka to 9000 rpms anyways, not to mention you can run all sr parts with a couple of bottom mount turbo manifolds i see selling everywhere.

true but im a big turbo big power man! but hey ive seen it done so its up to the driver and what they want! all i can say is try to drive/passenger in a car with a setup or close setup to what u wanna run so u know what its like! no suprises!

thanks alot all

but li want a DAILY driver reliable setup

not a crazy GT2 setup that will blow in 2 months lol

im gona go with the t25 since i like the quick response, and also im going with semi stock internals.

again thanks for the links!

SO MUCH Info to suck in!!! ahhh :ugh:

i think t25 arp headstuds and a gasket..and a good tune on like 14 psi 17 psi would be nice with a decent size ebay fmic kit....cheap...easy...and relatively reliable

jesus crist ricky, I think you should follow your own advise and do less talking and more reading like the thread starter.

Miami-200sx, its going to be very tricky to tune a turbo charged engine that makes boost so easily with out detonation in low rpms. The most correct thing you can do is to purchase an Enthalpy ECU tune for your engine with at least s15 480cc injectors. Make sure your ignition timing and fuel pressure are set correctly and have fun.

m4nfred, if his engine is running fine the way it is leave it. The head bolts and head gasket are not the weak points he should be worrying about. youll break ring lands before a head gasket due to detonation in a ka.

The ka likes bigger turbos...If you have a single cam...gl trying to find a manifold with a t2 flange. Just save money and buy a to4e 50...done...Also, the single cam has no knock sensors, they will not be there to save you...so make sure you get an enthalpy ecu.

i do have a twincam
and ill be turboing a 98 ka, with under 90k miles.
so no need for the studs or gasket.

.

see now im confused. cus ive been reading alot and ive talked to alot of people.

this is what i had planned so far.....

bottom mount t25.
Fmic.
Stock sr t25
Sr 370cc injectors.
walbro pump.

and to tune it , ive been reading everywhere that all i need is a SAFC or an Emanage, in my case i would rather go with the SAfc.

ive never heard bout that Ecu u mentioned.
and the injectors.... dont you think they are a lil big for the t25?
also im not planning to boosting so much.
My goal is 200whp. so no need to go over 10ps.

any input on my setup????

i was looking into them today and wondering how good they were
if i ever turbo my ka ill go with enthalpy
good choice ive heard alot of good things from enthalpy some of my friends are running there ecu setups on there ka-t`s. :bigthumbu

Since you are going to be running low boost, you could get away with an safc...I did it for three months at 12psi. It's easier to get the enthalpy ecu and your set. Jim Wolf ecu also makes a good tune...Somewhat rich, but safe....
370cc injectors are fine...I wouldn't boost more than 12 lbs on 370cc injectors.
Buy a fucking...Knock Light and wideband if you're going to tune it yourself (safc). :bigthumbu
