Alright so I changed my cmc last night in my s13 and took it for a drive. Everything was great! This morning I come out to leave for work. Turn the key and....nothing no click no crank nothing. So of course I keep trying and then smoke starts coming outta the dash not alot but enough! So like anyone I immediately took out the key and watched it to make sure it wasn't on fire lol. Luckily the smoke stopped after about 10sec. Im at work now and haven't pulled it apart yet but figured id post up here and see if anyone else has had this issue. Just a little history I have a sr20de and have had problems with the ignition since I got the car where every so often it wont turn off when I turn the key off. Thanks I hope someone can steer me in a direction here.

sooo just to update i fixed the issue. the guy that wired this car needs to be shot seriously. Sooo when he wired the shaved doors he ran a wire spliced into the ignition all the way to a relay under the hood called H/L RES CONT, idk what the relay does but w/e. So he decided im gonna twist together these two wires right at the hole in the firewall and put some electrical tape on it it will be fine yea NOT!!!
So when i went to put in my cmc the wires obviously touched the metal and bam when i went to start her it shorted and melted the entire wire as well as blew the inline fuse for the power to the relays for the doors. so long story short i rewired everything THE RIGHT WAY and shes good to go :bigthumbu
