Vaughn Gittin Jr. Shout Out on NASCAR broadcast
During today’s basic cable broadcast of NASCAR on FOX Jamie McMurray was hit by Joey Lagano and sent into a drift. Normally this results in a spin but the #26 McMurray put on a show and just drifted the whole turn! Mike Joy then commented on the amazing driving by saying “Jamie Mac looked like Vaughn Gittin, the drifting star in his Mustang.”
I documented this event live on my twitter.com/joeyredmond account and got some feedback from many people including a Ford employee. I was completely puzzled as to how anyone of the NASCAR announcers knew Vaughn Gittin and was looking for answers! Alan kindly informed me that Mike Joy met and interviewed Vaughn Gittin at the 2010 Ford Mustang unveiling back in late 2008. Clearly Vaughn made an impression upon him to be referenced months later during a NASCAR telecast. Looks like next for Drifting is basic cable!

thats awesome. Especially since they're setup to turn left and not meant for right turns (counter steering) Good ass save.
 
Definitely bad ass. Most dudes panic and lift and that gets them into more trouble. He knew he had the power and the setup was prob light enough in the rear so he just mashed the throttle and stuck with it! Awesome JOb!
 
Damn, 170mph entry LOL.

The new rear wing has to make all the difference. I've seen others try to stay in it with the old cars and just go up in smoke and into the wall or the air backwards, I'd be interested to hear his take on it all.

yeah that was bad ass, I mean he slid halfway around that turn at probly over 150mph

HOLY GOD, that was the most amazing thing I've EVER seen in NASCAR and undoubtedly a insane move he pulled. HOLY SHIT wall ride.
