im looking to buy a 1991 240sx coupe. the car has a ka24de under the hood. the vin code says its supposed to have the vg30e out of the 300zx can someone tell me if this is correct. the vin code is jn1hs34p0lw102778.
vin code doesnt match whats in the car

i have no clue but i looked up the vin with "http://www.nissanhelp.com/diy/common/nissan_vin.htm" and it says it is supposed to have the vg30e so i was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of it.

I know a vg comes in 300 I just typed it wrong. W.e probably swapped vin plates or some shit

and fyi the vin says its supposed to have a single cam ka.
Actually dual cam in 91.

well im getting the car for a really good deal and im not using it on the street. im looking to put in the sr20det. has anybody done one of the kits from enjukuracing.com ?

the car doesnt actually have a vg in it i just had checked the vin code on "http://www.nissanhelp.com/diy/common/nissan_vin.htm" and according to this website the car is supposed to have a vg30e in it.
that website is full of fail

yea if ur gonna get an sr20 get one that already has one in it, comes out cheaper and u dont have to mess with the hassle that comes with motor swaps.... or maib i just have had a horrible experience with motor swaps

wtf is happening in here? theres no way a vin for a 240 would tell you it has a VG in it. That is not the correct vin. If A Vin told you that the car is supposed to have something that it has never Ever come with in the history of the car, then the vin is swapped. Which means the Car is probably stolen or doesnt have a title who who knows what. I would honestly stay away from it and buy a legit car that maybe even already has an SR in it. It will be cheaper for you in the long run i bet.
Im just going to end this thread now... YOU ARE NOT USING IT ON THE STREET SO WHY DOES IT MATTER... if its a ka then its a ka.. if its a vg then idk what you should do... but if your going to spend 4gs on an sr swap package thing then you need to just buy one done.... end of thread thanks!
