Soooooo.....everyone in miami knows it was pouring last night and idk how but i guess i hit a major puddle and water sucked into my engine, luckily from the looks of it it only got into piston 1 all the others were dry.

:( left the car today at a friends, any idea how major this can be??

it can get pretty bad. as a precation you should go and change your oil cuz it could contain some water in it. also check your maf and see that that didnt get destroyed from the water going through it. im presuming that you already took out the spark plugs and cranked the motor over to shoot the water out. after all that just be very careful when you go to start it back up and make sure you dont have any strange noises or performance characteristics

yea we took the spark plugs out and the first one had water and all the others were dry.

we tried cranking it to get the water out too but the engine is like locked and doesnt want to crank, we tried turning the crank also but didnt want to turn.

You should still beable to turn your crank if all you did was get water in the motor. You have other issues, possibly valves stuck or broken.

prob bent the connecting rod when it hydrolocked and wedged the piston, either way if the motor doesnt freely turn over u got serious problems

Take out the spark plugs and crank it. If it still doesnt crank, you bent the rod and or valves and or broke the crank

hydrolocking Sucks!!!! :( Sorry To Hear Man... The Chances Of You Making It Out With Minor Damage To An Engine Which Has Sucked In Water Are Extremely Slim.....

AEM bypass filter.

get one for next time...

btw i hydrolocked a 5MGE for a couple weeks when i had a bad BHG I couldnt afford to fix, took 2 WEEKS for it to finally bend the rod on a 260,000 mile engine.

Bending a rod that easily and quickly... ungood!

dam this is why u stay away from cold air intakes in florida... there is the aem bypass but it sucks, u pretty much lose the few hp u gained with the intake and they are horrible with boosted cars, they collapse under heavy boost.... from the way it sounds ur motor is screwed.
What rpm were u at when this happened?
My ex had a gli with a cold air and drove through a poodle at idle and hydrolocked it and i was able to just pull the plugs, crank it and change the oil twice and it was finr
Sorry bout ur luck
