4 sho....... the won on my car if iam not mistaken waz welded by estie the guy i bought it from got it welded by him......its still works great and its a daily driver......

How many of the people here that vote welded have driven their car with a two way?

Ive driven more then one car with a welded differential and I prefer my nismo 2 way clutch type differential. The magic is when your drive line has less then the initial torque that the clutch springs can displace and each wheel is allowed to spin independently of each other until you need them to lock.

Also, some clutch type diffs are more audible then others, alot of the time the incorrect fluid is used. You must use the correct fluid to keep noise and clutch engagement in good working order, not to mention staying up on fluid changes.

For an NA car, id vote vlsd over welded because it dose not keep both wheels locked at all times. For a turbo car id say weld it if you dont have the money. Once you put higher grip tires on the back with a vlsd, the vlsd is not strong enough to keep both high grip tires locked so it spins one tire, eventually wearing out the viscous coupling in the diff.

the viscous coupling in a vlsd, stock lsd that comes in nissan cars is a sealed unit. The only thing that the gear oil lubricates is the ring, pinion and bearings. The actual coupling that locks the wheels output shafts together is separate from the fluid you service.

I Am Running A J30 Vlsd Installed It Two Months Ago, It Worked Great For Like A Month Now Its Not Locking Like It Should, And That Was Only Street Drifting, Some Drag, And Lots Of Donuts. Im Welding My Old Diff 2morrow. If U Plan To Run Events Than Go Welded Or Clutch Type. But Plan To Change The Clutches Often If U Beat It Up. Go Welded If Serious About Driftin And Broke!!

ok.
I drove a two way at a road course event in Gainseville and I slid it through one section a few times. It felt absolutley amazing, I could go to lock, then transition and it felt like it didnt even want to spin out. To ME, it felt like I could drive more agressivly with a two way and not worry about spinning out as much.

The whole thing about welded diffs breaking. I drove mine for over a year. Daily driving everyday 50-60 miles. All around town and tight corners. I also slid 3+ nights out of the week. I never had one problem with mine.
My friend Tom has had his welded for over a year with no problems. He daily drives 60+ miles a day, and he ran it for damn near 2 months with all the fluid drained out of it. If the bearings have even the tiniest bit of fluid, you're golden. He was also sliding 3+ nights a week with me.
If the person that welds your diff really knows what they're doing, that diff will hold up probally longer than a two way.

I still really want to get a two way just cause they feel absolutley amazing to slide on. Until I really do feel like paying all that money for a diff, when I could just weld mine for like $20, I'll stay welded.

i just got my new 2 way installed and love it. I had a stock 1.5 way and it sucked balls now i got a trutrac 2 way clutch type and it grabs like crazy. I would recomend nothing less then a clutch type two way but if you don't have the money weld it. I spent 500 for mine but its totaly worth it.

Is a guy named Dan a good welder, my brothers g/fs step brother has one that was welded by him, i wanna buy it from him and save mine just in case.

That little extra bit of control that you describe, the feeling like your not going to spin. Thats the diff releasing the clutch plates allowing the rear wheels to rotate independently of each other. ding ding ding it dose a little something for switch backs and addition mid drift throttle control.

About welded diffs breaking...... not if you weld them correctly. If you have enough power and grip, you will break the ring or pinion gear before you break my welds.

pm me for diff welding.

I Just Installed My Welded Diff And Forgot How Bad It Is Daily Driving Im Taking It Out Immediatly After Coutyline And Reinstalling For Moroso.

Not Only Am I A Woman But I Have Sand In My Vag!!

Why Is It My Car Is Pulling Hard To The Left Now That I Put The Welded Diff In. And Its Much Rougher Turning Right Than Left. The Tires Are The Same Size But Diff Brands, Air Press Is Identical? Car Never Pulled Before. Any Thoughts, Im Thinking Its The Different Brands Of Tires Might Be Slightly Off In Size?

Thats A Great Solution Lol Wtf. It Was The Different Tire Brands. Now It Drives Straight And Slides Like A 2$ Whore, Perfect

Yea its recommended with a clutch type differential that you should run the same size and tire brand left and right because tires turn out different sizes depending on construction.
