Welded diff opinions?

Ok guys so i gave up trying to find a Z31 LSD diff to swap into my 280 (old cars FTL) and since ive given up on making it a fast street car Ive decided to just make it my all out drift whore, and started thinking about welding my diff. I got a few questions:

Can i still daily the car with it? Like parking and making turns from stop lights and driving in the rain?

Is it bad for the drive train? will it put alot of stress on my old ass stock parts?

I also AutoX the car and love the neutral handling...is my car gonna become a understeering mess under grip?

Thanks for any input guys

I drive mine on the streets daily and its fine. The only time you will realize its there is when you try to to really sharp turns or pull into parking spots (car will shake a little). Driving in the rain is perfectly fine too and I'm sure doing auto-x with it would be fine, I messed around with it a few times around cones and it wasnt that bad (and im on stock suspension, upgraded suspension would feel alot better).

hmmm thanks for the input guys :bigthumbu yeah if its not too bad for street driving ill do it as my Z is now a weekend car now that i have a daily driver car. Another thing I came up with is instead of welding my current diff, just buying a spare and have that one welded, and swap it in. Then for a autox or when i dont need a welded ill swap back to the open one. Ok so im down to do it when i find a spare diff, who was it on here whos shop does welds? was it SMDG?

yeah, on my car its not too hard, just disconnect the shafts and 3 bolts and it slides out. Plus ill probably keep the welded on, and once in a blue moon ill probably swap in the open. Where is SMDG located? If they're not close to Kendall does anyone know of any shops around there that would do it?

Any shop that can weld can do it for you in 5 minutes. Just have the diff out, open, and cleaned.
