Welded Diff Vs. R200 VLSD

Hey guys, after this event i noticed something....my diff is a R200 that i purchased a while back but i was talking to a few people at the event about the 4:4:1 Ratio in my diff. Now, iv'e been listening to the RPMs from our personal footage from my car....and it sounds like i have to drive my car hard like a AE86. Does that make sense to you guys?? I have to drive that thing hard for it to actually break loose sideways.

My question to you guys are; Should I keep my R200 diff w/4:4:1 or I have a S13 diff at my shop that I could weld up?? So..........R200 Vs. Welded???? Need some advice!!!

welded wooo, even though mine just blew up ,, the gears went bad,, lol on way to event, but ive had in my car for couple months, and i had a leak, cause i stripped a thread hole on the diff, so i had to goo it up ,, but WELDED FTW very predictable ,, in the rain i dont like, but if u dont mind having the tires chirp when doing U-turns or parking.. then welded is the way for you,, i like it so im going back to it,,, do it

vlsd sucks and welded doesn't. one is locked forever one locks when it feels like it.

yo nukka do u eaven need me to say what needs to be said.

weld the diff. the v isn't for viscous, its for VAGINA..

bring the diff to me now. magic tune for you. plus it'll make your transitions %100 smoother.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....smooooooooooooooooth.

VLSD sucks for any size tires/rims bigger than the OEM equipment. Get a clutch type, they are 1000x better than VLSD and welded combined!!!

yes, i hate both vlsd and welded

when i tried to run 16's on my vlsd it stopped working
and anything over 45mph it doesnt work

welded just is gross unless its a track only car
then its still gross

vlsd ftl, welded ftl...get a real diff (clutch type)

thats if you have the money, if not then go welded>vlsd

pfft i was selling like 3 of them for 400$ and no one wanted one that is a steal for a real 2way lsd already installed in a pumpkin

yeah i had este's first ever welded diff in my car. he put it through all his event days and all the crazy street drifting, he handed it over to me and mAde a daily 350wrhp on it for year 1/2 and about 3 weeks ago it finnaly went. now i got a another welded one thats done diffrently then before. no comlains. its just as quiet as an open. i love this thing. and if i ever have a problem with this one, ill get another one from him. welded diff till the day i die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SMDG best welded DIFFS EVER!!!!!!!!!!

wow, are u kidding or did it really work i always joked about it, but its possiable and did u have any problems with it? if any!

I know their are 4.08 which is 240sx ratio, 4.36 which is 180sx ratio, and 4.6 which is out of something else that is r200, but you order that from nissan. 3.9 is j30

Get final drive ratio by dividing the numbers stamped into the ring gear.

switching to a 4.36 will allow you to modulate the wheel speed faster, but actual wheel speed per gear will decrease. So you will run out of gear faster while drifting. If you feel your self on the rev limiter alot as you are trying to drift the course then i think it would hurt you if you put a higher ratio final in your car. For the most part i'll keep the 4.08 ratio. If we had a perimnent road course setup to drift I might change the final drive to suit the course if i feel necessary.

If you have a 4.36 ratio toss it in and see how you like it. Test n tune.
