what clutch/flywheel setup should i go for

u should go with excedy's new 1 puck unsprung twin flywheel..shits insane man...grips like no other...

j.k

i would go with XTD. i have a stage 3 on my car and its good for daily driving too

If you are going to keep the car relatiely stock, with simple mods like intake, header, exhaust, etc, you don't need to get a flywheel, and you would do just fine with a slightly stronger clutch. Just get your existing flywheel machined/resurfaced to mate with the new clutch and follow simple break in procedures...

no why it wouldnt do him any good. if you arent going to drift it hard or turbo it and stock clutch will do you fine. but if you clutch kick like a whore then you might want to get a good clutch. lighten flywheels arent good if you clutch kick alot or dont know how do drive. have you seen a clutch explode? not pretty. anyways i like act but any "real" aftermarket clutch will do. but do yourself a favor and get a sprung dics, you will hate your self if you dont.

alright ima gather ya opinions and make my own. but wat do u think of my selection from ebay. i just want something reliable and the reason ima go with a new flywheel is b/c i dont like the idea of a "resurfaced" fly in my opinion. also its b/c i got an automatic setup at the moment and from wat ive heard an automatic fly wont work with 5sp tranny

there is no such thing as a auto flywheel, its called a flex plate two different things. anyways ebay, no name brand, junk sucks and you will hate it.there is nothing wrong with resurfacing a flywheel, they dont take off that much.if you want something cheap just go with stock nissan clutch and pressure plate.

sorry to thread jack but what will be a good set up to be running a lighter flywheel? it couldnt hurt just to have one right? from what i have been reading, a lighter flywheel can put less stress on an engine and help it live longer

i've been wondering myself about set ups for my car..im going to drift quite a bit..stiff clutches i dont mind with i used to drag a lot..for lets say hard drivers is a stock flywheel best and a stronger clutch

live longer? wtf? no it will not make it live longer at lightened flywheel will let you rev faster and gain alittle hp, very little. i dont like lighten flywheels because of the now fact that they explode. your a supposed to run a tranny blanket if you run lighten flywheel.

now to answer the posters last question. yes exedy are very good clutches. so are act, competition clutches and centerforce

spec are fify i have heard good and bad things about them, i would stay away

ima look into stock fly vs. "aftermarket" flys and ill get back to u on that one. but in the mean time,in between time im sticking to lighter flys

rb20 lightweight flywheel with a exedy N/A 300zx clutch.
will hold over 300tq and will feel smooth as stock.
