What's wrong with this picture?

it would seem I have a very tiny problem with my engine... can someone tell me what's this piece of metal sticking out? The hole is for venting excess exhaust gasses?... a little bit of bondo, some duct tape and maby a bit of JB weld and it will be running great.. Right?... Right?? please tell me i'm right...

^ Rod #1 was not happy with it's current living conditions.. so it moved out of the block...

I need a new SOHC block or a complete DOHC with harness and ecu... anyone have one?

hahahahahahah, sorry man, but i have seen that so many times its not even funny, i just blew up a SOHC with a bad rod knock on purpose, #4 came right out the bottom of the pan. it completely separated from the piston rist pin and all. lol it was cool.

This engine gave me trouble since the first day I got the car.. Stupid
POS, this is why even if the engine has low miles... you don't buy a car from Cubans...

My daily that I have personally maintained for more then ten years still runs great...
 
o my god sohc wowzer thats what they all do eventually.buy a sr n call it a day yur sohc theory is jus not gonna cut it power wise and reliability wize ;) my 2 cents
 
DOHC are reliable, the SOHC just is an overal poor Design, even the head...>....same as the sr's, stupid rocker arms.
 
^its so sad how the 1.6 liter 4AC makes almost as much power as the SOHC KA LOL. The SOHC KA is Decent turbo though. And Nissan did put more R and D into the SOHC KA then the DOHC KA. Nissan did have poor choices of power in teh NA catagory for the S13s and S14s, i mean the NA SR would have probly been hell to try and drift or drive fast on a heavier S14. I wish Nissan woul dhave made the NEO SR RWD. I saw one in an B13 at the homestead Auto X, ****ing halled some ***.
 
The SOHC makes decent power and is fairly reliable.. it's just this engine was giving me problems since I got it I think the previous owner really screwed it up..

I'm in the market for a Complete DOHC swap or a low mile SOHC bottom end anyone have either of these contact me.. I need a engine in this car and running well within two weeks.

haha i was looking at the old KA vrs SR thread, and this is what you posted.....Kenrik

look at my OSW pics... N/A single cam.. I beat on her all day at 6krpm and she still runs perfect even with 150k... I'm not getting into the whole KA-T or SR thing.. i'm just saying the KAs are really well built..

My DOHC KA just went over 150K about a week ago, has been in two different cars, has been crashed into a wall, has been thrown off a mountain, Only thing wrong with her now is my TPS and the Timing chain noise that was reciently fixed.

Just letting you know that theres NOOOOO two engines that are the same.
