Anyone know someone that could rebuild an axle? I replaced mine with a junkyard one but that's not looking healthy... dont think it'll last.

I want to rebuild the one that came off. Anyone has pointers?

there is a place here in palm beach that rebulids them the put oversized bearings and new boots and stuff like that for like 50 each i thinki

take the boot off ( watch for the metal straps, they bite) find a parts cleaner wash out the grease..... or take a rag whipe off the big stuff then go crazy with the brake cleaner getting anything out of the bearings and universals. Blow out with can of air then apply new boot and more grease. Done !

what kinda joint is it , Rzeppa ( with boot off, it looks like kinda a star with about 6 balls lined on the outside), Tripod closed tulip (has 3 posts each with a roundish roller and inside the roller are needle bearings)

those are the main two types there are several sub cat's but if you know what type it is I can give you general instructions for disassmbly and reassembly, just replace what is ****ed up. They are really simple actually

It's not inside a "boot" that's greased insive. It's like a huge rubber/metal spacer that is used to bolt on to the diff.

There's no play.... there's loud clunks whenever I'm turning or the LSD gets a big load on it.

JB Weld fixes all. :)

But on a serious note, I honestly don't know of any places that will rebuild axles. I've never had a problem like that so I've never had to look into a place to fix it.
