start 400
finish with 600
get the car wet and make sure to not leave deep swirl marks or pits in body.
wipe the car down with reducer and let it dry for atleast 6 hours
Lay the primer on in three coats to make sure that you cover any pits or swirl marks in the body.
depending on how the primer job turns out you may have to wet sand it. I would recomend doing so with 800 grit sand paper and a sanding spunge. make sure not to remove too much primer when wet sanding. Wait 24 hours between primer and paint.
As for paint go very slowly spray in straight lines along each body panel top to bottom. You should have more then enough paint to do atleast four coats although if its non metallic paint you dont need more then two or three. I would also recomend removing the trunk and hood and spray them seperate you will have less over spray this way. When i paint i remove basically everything that can be removed bumpers, fenders, headlights, taillights. It will give you a far better paint job.
Clear coat is difficult to spray so don't lay it on too think. You must have a very well lite place to spray. I normally do three to four coats of clear coat.
At the end you will probobly have orange peel in the paint or clear it happens because of the humitiy. This can for the most part be wet sanded out.
wetsanding
wait atleast 24 hours between paint and wetsanding
I use sand paper wrapped arounf a folded wash cloth. Remember to go very slowly and not to press hard. Also you have to keep both the sand paper and the car wet.
start with 1000
1500 make sure to remove all swirl marks from pervious grit
2000 make sure to remove all swirl marks from pervious grit
then use a buffer with rubbing compound and polish the car.
Then use the buffer again with polishing compund
You may have to do this process a few times to get a really clean deep paint job.
Removing drips
absolute paint in the ass lol
Use a razor blade to smooth it out. You may have to repspray over it again if its in the paint. but you can buff it out of the clear after removeing it.
after your down reasmble and look at your finish product
