weight. if i carried around as much **** as i do in the trunk that car would weigh 4,000lbs. s chasis is better?

Yeaaa.... but as long as they can make a similar power to weight ratio and tune the suspension properly to offset the extra 2 pistons up front, I dont see what would hold the car down from being a good drift car.

That being said..... 3S-GTE Mk3 Supra FTW.

one of my dream cars is a 5M-GE 2nd Gen. Everything about that car screams sexy. There are a few 7m drivers around here.

they have a really good suspension setup too, upper and lower unequal a-arms the upper arms are aluminum with struts front and rear they are just really heavy and the stock susp is to damn soft, I was helping my friend neil with his but he never got a motor in it after he screwed up the first 7M and he wouldnt settle for anything less than a turbo 7M even when I found a N/a 7m for free he could have had.

I would drift my 4M if it was a manual, but im working on this 88 s12 I just got so thats also another reason not to slide my supra

I want a Black FD a S15 and a R34... give me 10 years and all those cars will be in my garage.

those are really nice. a few people on here have them. i almost purchased one from a friend recently. the weight is there but if you can control it then i wouldnt think of it as a diss advantage. i was having fun sliding my friends big *** 5.7L camaro z28 :) ...thats is heavy. a lot of people like to convert to 1jz's but i like the torque of the 7m. i have seen a few pull 600whp and some up to 400whp on stock bottom ends so they are good motors to work with but its just like the KA vs. SR deal people have their own opinions. they are really good cars and they actually have a pretty good aftermarket support you just gotta look for it(just like any car that isnt a 240 ;) ) .

I dont like doing headgaskets :)
ahhh yes lol the ol' common blown head gaskets lol most people like to upgrade the the HKS 1.2mm head gasket.... from what i have noticed, the bad head gasket is the only problem that motor has besides the way it routes its intercooler pipping(not very efficient).

yeah i have 2 but not many complaints here. my running non turbo is serving as my daily for now. and my turbo parts car is sitting in my driveway. i like its power being non turbo and all no complaints from me only that my car has its other problems everything but motor ... it seems a lil heavy but i hope to slide it more once i get things fixed. and i'm gonna have fun sliding my Heavy *** IROC Z camaro(talk about heavy weight)

i say go for it i'd like to see more 7m drifting.....

platano pm me pics of all 3 of your cars...ill make you a nice sig with all three in them...

what a 7m s13, how much does it weigh compared to rb25's pr 1jz's

He is asking, Why don't people use the 7M-GTE from the MA70 or the JZA70 Supra. I'll tell you why...They go through head haskets like kids go through candy. I had a 1986 Supra, and that gasket went to ****.

By the end of the first headgasket you should learn to upgrade to a better one. Anyone that goes through 2 headgaskets and still has not learned their lesson is just plain stupid.

Get a thicker headgasket, lower the compression a bit, have more fun.

Simple process,
Erick

Not so fast Erick. From what I gather, the 7M head gasket issue was a design flaw by Toyota. Later model 7M's didn't have the issue. ;)
