Woman flunks test, crashes into DMV

BOCA RATON - An 80-year-old woman who was scheduled for a driver's license retest due to medical reasons smashed into the DMV building and injured seven people, said authorities.

According to witnesses, Therese Smith arrived in time for the test, but when her passenger side door wouldn't open to let the examiner in, she was asked to reschedule.

Smith then began to pull out of the parking lot in her 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis but went forward instead of in reverse. She went over the concrete stop, through a sign and through glass panels before coming to a stop inside the building, said witnesses.

Smith was ticketed but will be allowed to re take her driver's license exam.
