before anyone jumps ahead to say mafffff.. ive already tried 3-4 different mafs, and im still not getting past 2.5k... what else could it possibly be?

I think it might have something to do with the plug on my harness but im not too sure because as far as ive read in a few threads, the plug has 3 pins that are actually used, but the maf has 4 connectors..

someone enlighten me, i want this done before sat, dammet.

check your vacuum lines on your manifold they do affect alot in these cases.also check the vacuum line that goes to the intake is connected sometimes the car will have a real hard time at idle. make sure the maf you are using is also for the year car you have.also make sure you are not putting the maf on backwards lol.happen to me and it took all day to figure it out lol

hey lol.. got a flashlight and checked all the lines left on it, iacv (underneath intake manifold) is plugged to a valve-ish thing behind the block (or to the intake--shit i forgot) and fpr is connected where it should be; back left by the intake manifold, correct me if im wrong, but after egr delete these are usually the only 2 that matter.. I couldnt find those three ports that you were talking about. Shouldve tried with ur maf. :/ maybe im in a streak of bad luck with mafs. also, just to clarify, small side is going into intake pipe, and big side to filter..

Electrically, its like I said, I see three pins on the harness plug (with 1 empty slot), but four pins on the actual mafs that I've tried. This harness came off a formerly running ka, acidhatch's blown one (maf/intake,ecu,etc was sourced from this engine as well) so im not understanding wtf.

bro if you want i'm willing to make the drive ad give you a hand ad see if we get your car on the road!

did u check for ecu codes that will let u kno if its a sensor or not....
if it shoots a code obviously it will tell u....if it not does shoot a code then ur looking at a vacum leak...or the selinoid connected to butterflies is not workin or stayin shut....and once upon a time i was jefffin with the maf circuit and i burned just the maf curcuit in the ecu...and it wouldnt rev past 2.5k so look into that too

well.. my tps mustve been fine.. Too bad I messed with it before finding the wire that was sodered horribly from the maf to the ecu.. I can get the car over 2.5k, however--- it stumbles and NOW I CANT close the hood and keep the car running, I'm thinking vacc lines and/or tps....

gas and lighter are good to go.

so now u fixed maf wire and u cant close the hood?
damn bro id help u out if i wasnt chained to a shipping container.....
if can bring it p to my shop ill help u ot for an 8pk of bud...

Just want a shop now to take a look at it, maybe inspect the whole thing for vacuum lines, wiring, an whatnot. Put off from waiting at a certain place to try another MAF for a long long while [being assured that they had S13 MAFs] and then getting the "Oh, we only have S14 MAFs"

if the ground wire for the MAF is bad you can change all the MAFs in the world and the same thing will happin, reground the MAF and go from there...

make sure to disconnect the battery proir to cutting any wires

edit did u fix this.........reading>me

if its the ground wire that was soldered just ground it(MAF) to the chassis and cap the ECU side of the wire
