and +1 to what rwdrift said .... learn from others. and if there is a bigger crowd with a lot of people doing sweet drifting, theres more of an opportunity for you to learn something from them
 
I dk about you guys but crowds pump me up to drive, I Enjoy drifting in front of a crowd much more than by myself
 
i think someone said on here before that drifting right now is like skateboarding was back in middle school. everyone is into it right now because it's something new and different. But look at skateboarding now...it's still popular, but it gave way to alot of other sports to become popular, like moto-x, BMX, wakeboarding, etc. Mainstream isn't a bad thing. Like Erik said, prices are cheaper, more events, bigger crowds, etc. Only bad side is that 5-0 will be more aware and there WILL be the stupid kid who slides into a bus stop with his daddy's stang and kills people as anthony said. I think in reality, we really shouldn't worry too much about it. Just keep doing what you do, let the world look at it how they want, and if they don't like it, screw them. If they do, cool, reap the benefits.
 
Drifting being popular helps me sell a lot of japanese crap for x5 $$$ so it really doesn't bother me unless I see a bunch of "drifters" with excuses to why they (aren't/can't) drift

and white rabbit.........fuck the popularity of skateboarding...........i cant goto the park with out fucking running into 99999 noobs trying to do a damn gay ass kickflip or some stupid woodpusher trick in front of my rail.......its bullshit....so when money takes over and you have 9999999 people at an event and no damn seat time at all.....then well see who loves the mainstreamness (not a word but w/e)

its not about being an og....or egos....just...::sigh::....plus now that im on the the other side of the railing...at events......its easy for the damn spectators to critisize (sp?)others.....people that are first time sliders....just cuz they dont know how it is to be out there...driftings easier said than done...just gets me mad...those people...people that come out there with positive attitude...and see it as a cultural and learning thing....not an exposition....
