hey everyone i was reading and wondering if this would work ... i was searching on froogle and read that you can run a z32 transmission on the sr as long as you have the adapter plate to bolt it on. i searched for an adapter plate and found that mazworks (sp?) has an adapter plate kit that they have manufactured for this to work. i was looking at the transmission specs for the z32 and it seems to be built to hold a greater amount of power. so i was wondering if this would be worth the trouble?

any input would be great thanks. jose

If your engine makes the power that breaks transmission, you will need to buy that mazworks kitt.

How much power you putting down? I'm guessing your around 400-450whp if your looking to upgrade your tranny? Also Mournir Shedick has a point :boring:
 
If you are a hardcore driver, and I mean HARDCORE, you will break trannys, crazy bill has gone through 3 already and is currently using KA internals, I beat the shit out of my z32 and never had tranny problems besides synchros but that's normal.

Is it worth the trouble? Question is.. do you really need it?
 
i say do it, ive read on nico that the z32 tranny is the strongest tranny made by nissan right after sum T6 or T2 racing tranny.....
I READ IT i dont know for shure...

ull need a custom driveshaft too i believe
 
^no its not. A getrag from a R32 - R34 gtr should be stronger.

To the OP - if you're going to make more than 350whp, use big tires, and plan to drift pretty regularly, id say go for it. If not, just rough it out w/ the sr trans.
 
well the sr that im building at the moment is going to be quiet(sp?) possibly the strongest motor ive built since its going to be insane with everything i already started doing, and everything that is going to be done to it, will be posting that up the build shortly, and yes it will be drifted very often. i read it on nico and another forum so i was mainly kind of curious and to burninskulls i have thought of building the sr tranny. i just had it in my head that since im going all out with everything else why not the tranny? lol but it was just an idea
