New 2008 Drift Team: Scion, RSR, and Ken Gushi

BLADDER_MASTER

I just was mailed a document from one of my favorite sources before we left out of town and inside was a 10-15 page document laying out the plans for Scion to enter Drifting in 2008. Yes, that is right……Scion is stepping up in a HUGE way in 2008! They are converting a Scion tC into a RWD drifting machine under the flagship of well known RSR. Here is the cover of the Scion Drifting packet.

The current known sponsors of the project are Scion, RSR, Toyo Tires, Enkei Wheels, and Sparco. Here are some other vehicle renderings in the packet.

Now later in the packet they announce a driver, Ken Gushi formally of Ford Racing. Apparently Scion is making some big strides taking away Ken Gushi from Ford. What will this car have in store for 2008? It will be an interesting project to keep your eye on but I feel Scion will do the project justice. Scion has played a huge role in the growth of sport compact and I feel they will make sure their Drifting program goes well. Here is a confirmation on Ken Gushi from the packet.

Don’t miss this car in Formula D for 2008! Rumor has it this car will make the Impot Tuner cover so keep your eye out! I think they should trash Import Tuner and go with Wrecked! Who’s with me?

FD wont let a car that isnt powered by the rear wheels from the factory *either RWD or 4WD is accepted* unless they are changing the rule............woot I guess

They'll probably change the rule under pressure from scion and whatever other large corporation pushing that car.

I dont see the point in having a drift car if the public cant go out and buy a close facsimile of the drift car. Imagine all the front wheel drive drifting that is going to occur when the scion owners try to emulate this one off.

and the rear wheel conversions start now.
gather up your starter kits civic and other ff drivers.
theres a whole new drift game for 2008

i wonder how well it will handle. as much as everyone says they hate it im sure if scion offered you a chance to drive it in d1 or fd you would.

hell yea even if they told me to race a riced out civic and pay me for it i would shit its money it dont matter.. but still they started in the FWD racing industry and well am not gonna lie they had good selling times.. but now going to RWD to DRIFT they fail!

this is sad, they have run out of ideas to make drifting more noticeable. there trying there hardest to get noticed by the public that there changing rules to accept this new car. I dont know the true facts but didnt Blake Fuller have to give up on the integra, cause they changed the rules? I am glade ken is getting away from the fords he should leave those cars to the rednecks of this sport.
