j30 install

Ok, i drive a s13 hatch, and i i got a 5 bolt j30 diff and half shafts, i switched the back housings and i've gotten the half shafts in and the diff in but i cant get both half shats to connect to the diff, i can get one but not both. Anybody have any idea why, or how to get them both on?

it seems like the half shafts are too long is that possible?:confused:
 
Yeah thats what i heard and thought, but its not working for me, imma have a go at it tom again, anybody whos in the wellington palm beach area whos willing to help. I'd greatly appreciate it
 
hey i had a 300zx vlsd in my old s13 hatch and driver side was the stock 240 axle and output shaft and the passenger side was the 300zx see if that works for your setup matter fact take it to amrit(black240sx) he ran the same thing as well no leaks and drifted it
 
^^^ thanks, but my stockers are 6 bolt and i converted to 5. But we've come to the conclusion that as of right now i have 2 of the exact halfshafts meaning it wont fit, so im hitting up the junk yard and seeing what i can get. and not that you guys care but i'll let you know the outcome and if anybody with the proper 2 halfshafts is willing to sell 1 or 2 pls let me know i need it before sat
 
hold on i meant that i put my 240 output shaft(6 bolt) on the 300zx(5 bolt), just popped out the 300 and set in the 240, but anyways goodluck

how did you do that, and do you know if its possible to take the gears out of the j30 and put them in my diff.
