Need some help....
SR in, I sent out my harness prior to install & had them wire z32 MAF
engine cranks, won't start
If I add starter fluid to the intake vehcle starts, once starter fluid runs out
vehicle dies.

I got fuel & spark.....working on checking fuel pressure

I just found out once Z32 MAF installed will need piggy back, maybe SAFC
not sure if this might be the problem

Any recommendations?

thanks

Unplug the maf. Shoudl start and idle without it. But yes, you'll need either a reflashed ecu or a piggy back like an safc to run a z32 maf on an sr.

The AFC will not prevent it from starting. But driving correctly is a different story. First things first the lack of fuel.

First unplug the MAF get it out of the system all together.

Do you hear your fuel pump priming when you turn the key to ON?
What fuel pump are you using?
Tried jumping 12v+ to the fuel pump while cranking?

Who did the harness?

Are you getting power to the CAS? If not 12V+ there it will not signal the pump to activate.

so I'm guessing if it won't start, having more than just a MAF problem ????

Yes.Could be a wiring problem. Could be a easy find. Could need to send the Harness back. Are you positive the harness is wiring for your exact year car and engine?

BTW What version SR?

wiringspecialites complete the harness, I started with the stock pump then changed to one I purchased from Enjuku, I do hear the pump
the engine was put together with Greddy intake & stage 2 cams, everyone I talked to has told me I shouldn't need injectors, I'm just not sure why does it start when I add the starter fluid

I did check fule after, before fuel filter & at the rail & injectors

I sent the harness that came with the engine & my factory

Well if it starts with the Starter Fluid your problem is fuel 100%

Either your injector are not pulsing or your not getting enough pressure(unlikely), because it should still idle on low pressure unless it is like 7 psi or something.

Where did you get the injectors?

Have you checked pressure yet?
An easy way to bump pressure is to put some vise grips on the return line.

Hold on.

Who put the motor in the car?

Are you 100% the fuel lines are on correctly?

IIRC it goes

PUMP=======FILTER=====RAIL======INJECTORS ======FPR======RETURN LINE

right now running stock injectors, self engine intall,
did check lines, also when I was checking for fuel
I looked to make sure it was pumping on the right directions

but now I'll recheck again :ugh:

have not checked full pressure yet...will try vise grips on return line

If the oil smells like fuel, you might be getting too much fuel - could happen if the ecu is operating in limp mode.
