Move to Japan and Drift...

...i wont survive on $25,000 US...

It all depends on what kinds of bills you have, how you spend your money and where you live in Japan. If you have alot of college debt and plan on going out and "partying" it can be tight. However if you're the type that prefers to spend your time hanging out and working on cars in your off-time and can avoid the bars you'll be fine. Plus as an English teacher you can easily pad that company salary with private lessons. I've known plenty of teachers who have broken that 40k barrier with privates.

...apts their are small... n hella expensive...

Again it all depends on where you live. If you're in a big city that is absolutely 100 percent correct. You'll live in a tiny shit hole for a ridiculous amount of money. If you get yourself in a smaller town (think 100,000 people) you'll be in a nicer apartment for far cheaper. I've lived in plenty of apartments in Japan and have never paid more than 600 a month. Some of them were nice, new 2 bedrooms.

..if you dont speak nipongo then you get 'cross armed' everywhere...

Not necessarily. But if you don't come off as "humble" you will. I've seen so many foreigners in Japan who don't speak a word of Japanese and they get a cold shoulder because they expect Japanese people to go out of their way to help them and speak English. Some backasswards sense of entitlement.

...driving is hella expensive with those tolls...

If you take the expressway it is. But you have to realize a very import thing about Japan. Tax is like 7%. You pay for what you use. If you use the expressway you pay for it. If some old lady who doesn't have a car doesn't use the expressway she doesn't have to pay for it. You don't have to use the expressway most of the time.

... cities are like times square...

You mean times square on crack.

... all the girls love me...

Some of the boys too.

... its always clean...

Sometimes.

... the technology their rockzors.....

You'd be amazed at how low-tech alot of Japan is.

well if i go...how are the hookers???

Russian.

what if ur an auto technician? is there a possible way to go over there?

Even if you speak fluent Japanese I'd say close to impossible. If you were already in Japan with a work visa and spoke good Japanese it's possible.

I have actually always wanted to live in kyoto? is that a bad place to be in and m4nny you need to go to that one strip with all the underage schoolgirls working side jobs :p

Actually Kyoto is a pretty cool place to live. It's a big city but not crazy like Osaka/Tokyo and the prices are more reasonable. There are areas in Kyoto away from downtown that are still bustling because of all the temples and such but apartment prices are reasonable. It's thick with tuning shops and drifters as well so it would be easy to find an "in" with some guys to hang out with.

nice i have always wanted to live there, tokyo is just like new york for me i wouldnt mind living there for about a year but after that i would want to be out.

i lived in okinawa (sorry cant spell lol) for a few months with my gran parents and everyone treated me like shit. I think its because most people on the airforce base were douche bags so the people there hate americans. aw well i want to go back to a different city and see how the people are there but i must say i will never go back to okinawa.

I've always wanted to spend a bit of time living in New York but you couldn't pay me to live in Tokyo. lol.

How about fukuoka or kobe.... ??? are they decent cities?

Kobe is pretty pricey. It's literally next door to Osaka (think twin cities of Japan) so it's almost like living there.

Fukuoka would be a good choice. It's big but not crazy expensive. Plus there are plenty of tuning shops (Gun Sports) and you'll be close to Sekia which is undoubtedly one of the best drifting tracks in Japan.

For someone wanting to move to Japan to drift there my top 3 destinations would be Okayama, Hiroshima, or Fukuoka.

Living in Okinawa and mainland Japan is a completely different experience. The density of foreigners (mainly US military) is ridiculous. There's a lot of resentment towards them from the Japanese population because of the stupid shit some of them have done.

why shouldnt you hate a terrorist group?

although calling people insurgents is just a way to justify killing people who are defending their land and way of life from our invasion

I think I failed to mention this but if anyone is in college they can see if their school has a study abroad program. If you get over there on a student visa you can work "part time" although most places will let you run up full time hours.

Joining the military also used to be a good way to get yourself to Japan and behind the wheel and drifting. However, alot of bases have cracked down on it (i.e. if they find out you're doing it you're screwed) and a big majority of them won't let lower ranking (think E-5 or under) servicemen even own a car. In addition those that can own one often times are forbidden from modifying it in any way.

When it comes down to it I'd say the best way for someone who isn't a seasoned professional is to look for work as an English Teacher.

Yea the study abroad plan is pretty nice although you will need to have some pretty decent bank to think about it. I tried doing a study abroad in Cortona, Italy and I had to come up with $6k in like 3 months...wasnt happening so I ended up not going. But man I would have loved to. I havent seen any for Japan though, ill tell you though if I do im there.

im fucking down then. but seriously i would have to have a for of work there.

lol thats whats up.
