i was just wondering, with a hydraulic e-brake kit, can it still be used as a regular parking brake???

and is there a kit that u can still keep the center console

some kits offer a ratchet style lever that will lock as a parking brake, but as for the consel i dont think it can stay. All the kits iv seen so far have it removed. on s14s at least.

If you can make your own brackets, then you can keep your center console. Using the hydro as an actual parking brake is a bad idea. You will be leaving pressure on the cylinder and seals for extended periods of time, its just asking for your seals to go, loose pressure, buy another hydro. If anything keep your stock ebrake or relocate it and make a bracket for your hydro.

If you can find a location to mount the hydro e-brake other than the stock location, you can keep your cable e-brake. Another option is to keep the cable locking mechanism and relocate it somewhere with a smaller lever.

What FlyinFINN said is true, you don't want to keep all that pressure on your hydraulics. It might cause your foot brake to fail as well.

i have the stock e brake and centerconsole (modified of course) but i still have my armrest. i was thinking about roof mounting my hydro but it seemed like too much work and not enough payout

damn i wish i would have known at countyline,
what hydro do u have,

one of the reasons i was gonna get a hydro e-brake was because i have sum rear 300zx calipers i wanted to put on n not have to deal with changing anything to get the e-brake to work, but i guess im gonna have to do it

You're doing custom work, so depending on how you attack the task will determine the results. But here's how my friends at PSM did the rally brake on Dan's S15:

Notice the stock ebrake is retained, as well as the stock console. Take your time and pimp shit out, and that's what you get... :bigthumbu

The only thing you need to run the 300z rear calipers on S14 is R33 ebrake cables, and the conversion brake lines. It all bolts up.

Im running z32 rears on the babyeater. I did the hydro ebrake setup. I mounted mine in stock location, just need to make a custom bracket.
