Fancy Me Yet

Last week my buddy Chris, who was previously in The Minor, called me up to set up a date to shoot Fancy Me Yet's new promos. FMY is currently in the works with signing onto Atlantic Records. The day before, the band and I meet up in Downtown Fort Lauderdale to scoot for some locations, which we found 3 all in one place, AWESOME. I was kind of worried, because the weather forecast swore that the day we were shooting on was going to have pretty nasty weather. Man the luck of the Irish, finally paid off! The weather was perfect.

Great band, and very cool people.
Check them out!

The last one is the strongest.

The first one the guys need more light on them.

The second one half the chicks face is in shadow but the guys aren't.

Oh yeah I know about that. 5 lights probably would've been best of having them stand closer together. What about composite work. Set up the camera on a tripod. Shoot one person with 2 lights then just shoot the next person and then the last. Just overlay in photoshop and use mask layers or whatever floats your boat.

I like em just think that 1st and 2nd one would have been better if the girl was on center with the backround. And third one has this weird glow on her left arm.

i was thinking about doing composites, but sometimes it looks stupid and fake.
and i didnt wanna waste the time doing it.

only so much you can do with 2 lights

I have a few more lights, if you would like to borrow :)

I like these quite a bit. I like how you brought the ambient into the shots. As a matter of personal taste - the first could have a little more light on the people, and the street lights on the sides are distracting to me. The building in #3 bothers me because it looks crooked.

That said, they are very nice, and it is no wonder they were very happy your images. They should be! Nice choice of interesting locations too, if really helps with the feel of the shots.
