^what you did wrong there was you were too chicken $hit to keep your foot on the gas. hence the rear tires gripped hard and launched you into the grass.:p
when you can no longer see where you are headed thats when you need to stop looking around and imagine where you are and remember where the exit is. its drifting blind thats why what kawabata did was so amazing. that in my mind is when you've become one with the car and mastered drifting.

i wish, but i woulda been in the wall haha, I was simply too much angle from that entry point with that speed. my car is setup to grip while drifting pretty well and the power, er lack there of, means when I stomp it, most of it actually gets on the ground and doesnt just spin tires.
 
I believe this is the same event. Boxmod's theory seems to be true for the most part, notice the in-car footage of Hibino and Kawabata. The only slight difference seems to be that the 86 can be tossed in a little more aggressively.

yea, lighter cars need to come in with more speed than heavier cars because they decelerate faster.

I cant remember hsi name, but didnt one of the FD drivers last year or so at a cali event enter about the same way, pretty much backwards and held it

i didnt say that a drift car should be set up for low grip i meant
low grip as in when in drift the G forces are much less than say if you gripped that same car around a corner. you misunderstood me.i am not a fan boy. and im not dumb.
centripetal force around a corner is =mass(velocity^2)/radius
car A is grip racing through a corner, it then goes back to drift through the corner.
guaranteed it will go slower when its drifting, thus all else held constant centripetal force will be lower. hence the lower grip required hence my comment on drifting being a low grip sport.
if you still dont get it, maybe it might help if you join me in my physics 2 class at fau tomorrow morning. calc 3 is on monday, we're learning about movement in 3d space using vector formulas. your more than welcome to join in. though i must warn you, on wednesday we have an exam and we're not allowed ANY calculators. just pencil, paper, and the grace of god; that last part is important.;) if by the small chance i have no idea what im talking about, i guess that it wont matter when ill be making 6 figures.
it seems as if boxmod is one of the only few drifters that dont have expanded egos and think they run this forum.

bladder master gave me drifter when i didnt even ask for it after 1 skidpad.
 
if you wanna know how i drift, ask him yourself. i havent been drifting lately bc my car is down. ohh how i'd love to drop a turbo in and get back out there.

I'm not going to say a smart ass comment but that's true to a certain degree. Yes, it can decelerate faster(i.e. better braking) but it also accelerates faster(depending on the power and weight in relation to the other car). It just comes off like your saying that the lighter car is at a disadvantage, but maybe I misunderstood what you meant. I don't feel like writing an essay but this subject always seems to cause an ego clash, it's like talking about politics or religion.

Oh what I meant by tossed more aggressively is a more violent turn in or feint to initiate the drift, it's just a typical thing that crazy Hibino does ;).

To get back on topic, great vid and I hope to see more posted :bigthumbu.
