turbo timer on auto chassis, key gets stuck??

so i have an s13 that was auto and converted to 5speed

i put a turbo timer in the other day, well when the timer starts counting down and i turn the key off pressing the key release button the key wont come out.. when the turbo timer finishes counting down i hear a click from the ignition and the key comes out..

so how can i get around this?
or has anyone else has this issue

you sure you wired it right cuz it sounds like its reading that its in gear and locking the switch. might wanna look in the fsm to see if computer controls the lil button on the autos. if it does try swapping over a manual ecu and see if it fixes the problem

my car has an rb in it so it has nothing to do with the ecu

hmm well you may wanna look into the fsm to see what controls the circuit for the key release.
