ps3 problem

so my ps3 isnt playing any games br movies or dvd movies its not even showing up .. has this happened to anyone im doing the system recovery now and that shit takes 7 hours WTF?!?!
 
what do you mean its not showing up? does your Tv say "invalid format" or "NoSignal",
also you may have fucked up the PS3 if you randomly turn it off, or if its in a place that it can overheat, more details plz
 
if its not playing discs replace the disc drive or take it apart and heat gun the board shit works ayes has done it like 4 times to his

uhh ya, replace the disc drive, but idk about that heatgun shit, ive done that as well ( to others systems) and it works, but the problem usually comes back ( like he said he did it 4 times )

most people fuck the above up cause they dont know how to do it, not recommended for newbs at mods

try cleaning the system with compressed air b4 you melt the board.

if you get the invalid shit that means the input port is broken?? one of my hdmi ports says invaid with my ps3 and with my computer it doesn't read it at all...

no dude not necessary, from what i read online, that means that your ps3 and tv arent really compatible ( besides if you use a resolution that you Tv cannot output) usually happens with LG tvs like mine and the PS3.

Turn off you ps3, turn it on(back switch) and press and hold the front power button with your finger for about 7 seconds till u hear like 3 beeps, then try it.

i'm gonna give that a try, but the other port picks things up fine.

**Edit** I tried, shit didnt work :(.....I'm stuck using 1 HDMI port for 3 devices

well 7 hours later and a full reboot and everything works fine the discs were never showing up on the menu
 
if you were a real man you would own both a ps3 and a xbox 360, getting ready to lock this thread. do you still have warranty on the ps3? if you do send it to them to fix it. if not just get the new ps3... delete orama, since the op said that its fixed :lockd:
