Driving down to Homestead, $10. Buying batteries for your camera, $20. Having the opportunity to drive a Lexus in an autocross course, see Toyota's most expensive technological advanced vehicle they've ever built, and free food, all for FREE, PRICELESS! That's exactly what happened this past Wednesday at the Lexus F-Sport event held in Homestead-Miami Speedway. It was a free event to give people the opportunity to experience what Lexus' F line has to offer. Attendees were treated to free food in the longue as they waited for their chance to drive a lineup of Lexus vehicles ready to be driven to their limits in an autocross course layed out specifically for this event. Vehicle models such as the IS, IS-C, and GS were available in both factory and modified form as well as the high performance IS-F.

Before our driving session, we were treated to a driving class where the basics of racing and vehicle dynamics were explained to us to make us understand the difference the F-Sport accessories make. Attendees were asked to drive the factory model and after drive the modified model that was fitted with Lexus' F-Sport accessories such as upgraded brakes, suspension components, and exhaust to name a few, to see the difference the accessories make to the vehicle. And what a difference it made. While the factory models were easily susceptible to understeer through the tight course, the modified models exhibited little to no understeer. But what everyone was anxious to drive was the IS-F, including myself, which between the factory and modified models, they couldn't come close to the sheer power, handling, agility, and braking performance the IS-F had to offer. It's a car that can get your adrenaline going for a whole day.

After the driving session, attendees were invited to jump in to an IS-F driven by a professional race car driver to go out on a hot lap around the Homestead-Miami Speedway track. But 3 randomnly selected individuals were instead treated to ride in Lexus' soon to be released LF-A driven by two-time Grand-Am Sports Car Series winner Scott Pruett. The LF-A was a sight to see and hear as it roared it's 552HP 4.8L V10 engine down the track. With only 500 units scheduled to be produced, this was the perfect opportunity to see the LF-A up close and driven to it's limit.

Lexus' demonstration of what their F line models and parts has to offer shows that their dedicated to wiping off the image that they can only build a boring reliable appliance. Instead what they're building and offering are performance machines that can make you feel young again. You can say their "Relentless pursuit of perfection" is now their "Relentless pursuit of perfection and performance".
