compression numbers

this is my daily also so im trying to take as much procaution as possible, i dont want to end up blowing my engine just because i wasnt patient enough to boost it. im not looking for crazy boost, just 8 psi or so

Last i tested mine. I had about 188k on the motor.

Numbers were:

190
185
185
180

Still runs strong. So im buying parts to tubro now lol.

But ka are no fun on
only 8psi and it's starts with 8 then 10-12-14-16-18 till it pops

Just drive your car get a ka mild build that or w/e then just swap motors so then you hVe a ka just in case it's easier

At the least replace theheadgasket and get
some arp studs and your ka will be
fine for 15 psi most of the time

well this ka i have now i was going to change the head gasket, do a gasket kit on it, and i was thinking about doing the apr head studs, then boosting it. but now i gotta see if this engines worth it compression wise. Im going to go home after work and try it once more, then maybe check if all the valve are working properly

theres no thinking about arp studs those are a must have for ka oem rod bolts stretch pretty good

Ok so i got the numbers for the third test try
unplugged injectors, took out the fuse for fuel pump, turned over the car a couple times, then unplugged the distributor, took out the spark plugs and went at it.
i held the peddle down this time
1. 165
2. 194
3. 194
4. 180

didnt do the whole oil thing to better compression to see if its the rings or the valves because i only saw it now. ( my work computer doesnt show me pictures )

what you guys think, gasket kit, felpro head gasket, apr studs, booost?

lol im looking into it. im surprised it didnt say boost it and trade me your hood! lmao!

anyways through a little research online i saw that normal is 10% of a difference between each cylinder.

and i also read your ok for boost as long as the compression isnt around the 110's...

so whats the real answer for boost??

10 pounds on stock KA is not a good idea. But i think everyone is forgetting something very important. Tuning...make sure you get a good conservative tune from a rep source. And as stated above you can't be going WOT every chance you get because it will not last.

I think im keeping the hood, i just ordered the front seal for it $35 bucks, if anyones looking for it hit me up i got the nissan part number.

and i was looking into SR but i still think its too much, im just gonna buy another KA and rebuild it, gonna take longer but at least i kno itll be reliable.

mine was
175
175
175
178

mind you my motor has 224000 miles on it

well arent you just lucky. lol i wish
