power diff betwen 91 an 95 240sx

Ok i have a 91 hatch ive always had s13's two hatchs an a coupe.
all of them had fine power in stock form i mean for what they were.
Never had or rode in a stock s14 until yesterday my buddy bought one.
An let me say holy shit what a power difference there is. my car now currently has a 96 ka but ive been yet to drive it because ive been buildin ic piping an exhaust an other little things. but i mean is there horsepower difference between the 91 ka and the 95 ka or is it in gearing or something.
Because ive been really rethinking turbo my car if im gonna have the power that his 95 has. and arent the s14's heavier by like 1000 pounds ?
 
Serious. If you have a dual cam in there, your s13 is lighter; so stock to stock you should be pulling or atleast hanging with that cow. If you feel a power difference like that, juice got song ichues mang.
 
theres no diff..just a newer motor will run better...
ive chewed up and spat out two 97 ka....they just r newer...all the spec r the same...
just boost it.blow it and do it over again...sr20det or die doin ka swaps
 
idk i guess maybe its just been so long since ive driven my car i forgot what she had. but this s14 has 50k more miles then my car but it felt like it pulled ten times harder idk. maybe mine was just really f#cked up. hopfully ill have my pos back on the road tomorrow we'll see whats up
 
i use to have a 93 dohc 5spd & 95 se dohc auto.

my 93 was pigballs slow compared to my s14.

probably the motor needed some work but it was night/day to me.

Slightly different comparison but my KAe feels slow as shit compared to my bro's 01 frontier with a DE.

are you serious. your talking about a motor that has about 10 more years of abuse on it vs a newer less abused motor. what did you think was gonna happen? that is the case for most of this. your comparing newer motors to older motors. they both have the same stats all the way from both the s14 and s13 no difference. another thing is that the s13's have alot of worn parts motor mounts, suspension parts ex. these things all add to what feels like a power loss.

the s14 and s13 ka do make the same amount of power in similar areas but are not exactly the same. as mentioned, cams are different and compression is different. gearing in the tranny is also different between the two. but you are right the newer motor will always feel faster because it is putting out more power than a worn older motor.

the frontier new makes less power than both s13 and s14 new
