hey so my problem is that i keep blowing fuses on my radiator fans that i have wired to a switch inside the car.
i have it wired where i have ground control. the switch i have is one of the ones from autozone with the blue led light that lights up when its on (it doesnt work though). when i bought the car it had about 6 different wires all spliced together so we put brand new fresh wire, inline fuse, switch and ground in it. now when we finally attached the wires to the switch, if the diagram is followed it doesnt light up when its powered nor does it turn the fans on, BUT if wired where the ground is the accessory and the accessory is the ground then the fans would flip on but the light wouldnt. so i ran it around town the other night and it worked fine all night, no dead battery, fans flipped on and no blown fuses.
now the morning after when i went to crank the car the battery is dead and the fuse was blown. i know i turned the fan off. however when i was taking my belligerent friends home one of them turned my fans off while i left the car on as i was making a 711 stop. we proceeded to haul ass to his house way out in bfe and i didnt realize how high my temp gauge had spiked till we arrived, flipped the fans on, car cooled down, no problems.
back to it though, after new wiring, every type of fuse up to 30amps have been tried and its blown them all. im all out of ideas. could i have friend the fans themselves (they both still work) causing like a short inside them? or do i need heavier gauge wire?the fans are mishimoto dual fans for an s13. lmk whatcha think
