CFRC held a best entry contest Saturday evening and this time around the spectators were the judge. A poll was setup with every run on DriftWizard.com to vote on the entry, allowing spectators to rate the performance with their smartphone or tablet device. After 19 drivers displayed the best they could up with, only one stood at the top with the highest rating going to Sarasota's Jeremy Lowe. Not too far off was "Girl Power" Kelsey Rowlings and "The King of Spring Break" Patrick Goodin who also scored high with the crowd.

The only casualty in the contest was Tom Barnhart who looked to delivery the gnarliest entry of the night but failed to keep it together as he lost control of the car and stopped in front of the crowd. As he was finishing his run, he went wide and made contact with the wall. The damage wasn't enough to immobilize the car but I'm sure he'll be spending some nights replacing body panels.

Entry contest aside I think the highlight of the event was the interactivity that Rob Fleming brought with his DriftWizard website. Chatting with spectators and receiving their feedback with polls through the website brought a new level of entertainment to the event. The idea looks to be very promising and it's only a matter of time before other events start to introduce similar options. Expect things to get better as Rob is determined to iron out the kinks and in the process introduce new ideas to events.

The drift wizard thing was a really interesting/good idea. The only downside was the amount of time it took between runs because of the voting (waiting in line for the entry contest was horrible) but hopefully that can be solved by just running things a little differently, like keeping the run groups during the comp.

any footage of the entries?

Not that I know of. I didn't see anybody specifically record the entries.

I heard from a little birdie that the announcer was super annoying. :D

What I still don't get is someone said I was too "energetic". That is still baffling me.
