    what size socket wrench are you using you should be using the 3/8's and you should be able to feel when you stretching the bolt inside. If you ripped the head clean off the bolt you've gone way too fucking far. use a smaller ratchet and that should resolve your issues or torque them to spec...

    your timing chain should not be rattling against your guide. a solution to your problem isn't to just remove the guide. check your timing and check your tensioners.

    yeah sounds like the chain hitting the guide, or even the guide itself rattling around pull your valve cover its pretty simple. Check and make sure your chain is tight and your guide is secured.
