look for another hatch at u pull it . wwe got one for my buddy luis's car there and it was rust freee. alot of time the its much less time consuming and ends up being cheaper to just replace it rather than try anf repair tyhe rust. because on the hatch the rust is probably working its way...

have you tired to hammer the dent out from the inside a bit. even if it still looks messed up it wont lok as bad. also if you cut out the rear quarter you can just drill out the spotwelds. they selll a drill bit for that. post pics of the damage so we can get a better idea on how bad it is.

if you have the stock head unit you cannot remove the amps. you wont get any sound out of the speakers if you do. the only way to rip it all out would be to replace the factory head unit with aftermarket and replace the speakers.

and you have nothign to lose by just pulling the head off the motor to see whats up. a compression test would also help. but id wait on buying the gaskets until you look at the head and the wp.

1st off cometic sucks. second what kind of motor is it?? if its something like a ka24e then you might just be better off upgrading and saving yourself the trouble later. a swap probably wouldnt cost much more and would be worth it imo.
