My buddy has an sr20det in his 240sx, its actually the second sr that he got ( first one was a lemon) and now he has oil coming out of the breather on the Valve cover, he thinks that his piston rings are shot....what else could it be other than that and whats a good shop around here to get a rebuild done?

its his rings estie had the same problem we changed the rings and it stopped. Its not hard to do just make sure to get the head decked so you dont keep blowing head gaskets

Sounds like a plan, so if everything else is clean he should just change the rings and get the head decked and he'll be back on the road...

you need to hone the cylinders which you can do with a hand drill and a honeing tool. or if you dont feel comfertble doing it yourself you can have it done at a machine shop cheap. Id suggest changeing all the gaskets and using a metal head gasket and arp studs if he has the money. just kind look over the motor and replace what needs to be.
