i was thinking does anyone on this forum know how to swap firewalls on a 240sx i was thinking of getting a front clip and i didnt want to waste the RHD suff lol and i dont want to do a dominican RHD swap either please lmk if you do and how much would u charge me :bigthumbu
 
i just need the firewall swapped i'll do everything else my self i just doent know how to swap out the firewalls and i dont wanna do it how the do LHD conversions in DR by swapping parts and just making new holes,.

Call this number: 305-259-9702. They'll tell you how much is going to run and how much work is included.
 
Nigga i did mine its not to hard you have a shop i did everything infront of my garage with the hot ass sun burning me.. It's not too hard...

Ok, if you have all the tools and all the time sure you can do it. Then in that case help the guy out and do it. :D
 
the swapping parts is not the problem if you could explain to whats involved in swapping the firewall i can do it but it welding is part of it i cant i only cave one of those stick welders i forgot what its called exactly and i dunno how to weld i can do everything els i mean everything i just need help with the firewall thing

Cut the old firewall install the new one and call somebody to weld it into place for you...
 
were do i vut it from becaue noticed the wiper motor is on the opposite side too so do i cave to cut the entire firewall or just inder the seam wew the wiper stuff is ..could u take some pics of your swap and outline were u cut for me?

Actually there was a leak it was fixed.. As for tuning am not done with it yet... Is there anything else you guy's want to call out?
 
Rotor broach the spot welds on the firewall. Its more time consuming then difficult. have to burn some of the seam glue and clean the firewall up from paint so you can see the spot welds a little easier.
 
MOst shops will Charge around $2000 for the Firewall swap alone. I'd guess double tgat for them to do it all. Its not easy to do it right.

i called and he wont do the firewall swap alone he said he will only do the whole conversion for 3k :( i need someone who will do Just the firewall if anyone on this forum has done it and willing to help me out that be great and pm me a price if not im going to attempt removing it myself and take it to a old guy i know who welds PLEASE someone with info on shops or something lmk
 
there is a special tool, well drill bit i should say, i cant remeber what they are called but they drill out the spot welds thats all you should have to do... and then the old man can spot weld it back to place... anywho GL!
 
so the firewall is spot welded in place? hmmm.....it migh not be so hard then but what about the part were it meets the tranny tunnel does that have o be cut out too or is it spot welded to the firewall???im gonna take a good look tommarow when i yank whats left of the motor but if you know that'll help , Thanks :bigthumbu
