Drifters In Miami

Wuz Up Yall I Want 2 Have A Drift Meet In Miami In A Few Weeks And I Want 2 Know Who Is Interested And Maybe In March Have A Competition Who Ever Gets Podium Will Get Cash 4 Now I Want 2 Have That Meet Next Month Sadly It Will Have 2 Be At Day Time Cause The Police Likes 2 Break Things Up If We Meet Up At Night So Please If U R Interested Let Me Know And If U Have Any Resourses Please Let Them Know I'm Not Some Rich Kid With Nothing 2 Do I'm A Hard Working Man That Wants 2 See Drifting Grow In Miami.thank U And Have A Happy New Year. :d

Um we already have a drift meet at OSW... and if your talking cops then I guess you're talking about taking over some poor suckers parking lot without asking... not a good idea man.

No Not Really Its That Like I Said Im Not A Rich Boy I Work 4 My Money And I Dont Think It Would Be Fair 4 Me 2 Rent A Place 2 Do The Meet And Then Charge People Just 2 Park Their Cars And Talk But I Do Have A Place That I Have Permission 4 But It Has 2 Be At Day Time But If U Guys Want 2 Pay Just 2 Park Be My Guests So U Understand Its All Legal If It Weren't Legal Then I'd Say Lets Meet Late At Night And Dtift Till The Cops Come Feel Me ? As Far As Osw Thats In Orlando Right Well Im In Miami So Understand Why I Said Drifters In Miami.

Ricky, honestly, there is more than just getting permision from someone to use a parking lot, there are insurance issues to deal with to start, cost of safety equipment and lots of other things......plus I dont want you to take this the wrong way, you just joined this forum so I ask who are you? have we met you before? give us some background on you, intentions? we have been around for a couple of years, why have you not come with this opportunity for the local drift community earlier? did it just come up? How can we help you if this is actually legit? feel free to contact me, I am very interested in helping you accomplish your goal.

Next Month, Im Trying 2 Get At Least 20 Cars Out There Then In March I'm Hoping 2 Get That Drift Competition. Participents Will Have 2 Pay But Thats Just 2 Make Sure We Can Cover Track Costs And 2 Make Sure That Who Ever Gets Podium Will Get Cash Tell Your Friends And Practice All U Can.

As a side note... People might take you more seriously if you used correct English, punctuation and grammar. I really think we could use some events down here in an open and safe enviroment, but I'm sure you can understand how we would be a bit sceptical when someone that we don't know shows up to a well established community with something as big as an event.

Oh and ricky.. they never made a 94, 240 fastback... 94s were only verts.

Well Ur Right Dhsil80 Thats Why I Want 2 Hold A Car Meet First And Make Sure Everyone Is On Board My Intentions Are 4 Profesional Drifting 2 Finally Make It 2 Miami The Last Time I Heard Of Anything As Far As Profesional Events Coming 2 Miami Was In 2003 And That's When Drifting Was Just Starting In The Mainstream I Guess It Didn't Turn Out Very Well Cause I Haven't Seen It Here Since. I've Wanted 2 Do This 4 A While Now But I Thought It Would Just Pick Up On It's Own, Now Profesional Drifting Is Going Into Its Third Year And The Closest Event Is In Atlanta, Thats Sad. How Can U Help If U Have Any Resources Please Tell Them And If Not Then Just Come Out 2 The Meet Its Free So Their Is Nothing 2 Loose We Dont Need Insurance Because Its Just Parking And Meeting Each Other If I Had The Money I Would Pay 4 A Drift Day Myself, But Like I Said I'm Not A Rich Boy So Its Going 2 Be A Slow Process But I Think In The End We Will Have Profesional Events Here.

Well, The Date Of Production Of My Car Is 09/93 Which Means That Production At That Time Of Year Is 1994 Not 1993.... So It Is A Fastback.

Well anyway, they have weekly meets already so it would probably be easier for you to come to one of those.

The drifting scene in Miami is picking up and Ter-Tech has been hosting events in Miami for the past few years I guess you were not aware of them. Now I'm not trying to beat on you or put you down but if you want to be a professional drifter where have you been for the past two years?> it's easy to say "I wan't to be a professional drifter" but it means nothing at all unless there is some real action and hard work. Do you Know what the difference between the pros and everyone else? it's a Single word "Dedication" doing anything and everything to make you aspirations a reality. This includes practice! tons and tons of practice! every single chance you get no matter how hard it is or how far you have to go to get it. Of course that requires money and as a novice there is no way in hell you're going to get a good sponsor which means it will be coming out of your own pocket Tires, Car repairs, crashes, upgrades etc.. You think Orlando is to far? well there are people who drive Nine hours to Atlanta just to drift... why? because they are dedicated.. in a few years you will see some of them make it all the way to the pros while others will still be sitting dreaming of something that will never happen without putting in lots of hard work and being... you guessed it... Actually I'm sure you got my point by now

Again I can't stress enough how importaint of English and grammar are...

I understand what u r telling me, but what i want to do is bring drifting 2 miami. As 4 going pro i never said that i'm doing this 2 become pro 4 now i find drifting fun thats why i do it but i don't want 2 have 2 drive 4 hours 2 orlando just 2 do it, or 9 hours 2 atlanta. Do u understand ? If u want 2 be part of this cool, but if not just keep on correcting everyones grammar don't take it the wrong way.

As a community with a lack of places to legally drift, we are willing to listen to any ideas. However we just want to make sure that he knows about all the issues of holding an event, the same issues that have been plaguing us from having one since Hialeah Speedway closed.

I've been following his thread from another forum and it just doesnt seem like he is up to date with the issues that Jose (DhSil80) pointed out, which is already obvious to most of us here.

I am glad that his approach on this forum has been a lot more friendly than the other one. I am all for promoting legal drifting, however I want to see an idea that is actually feasible.

Ricky, you seem like you have good intentions however South Florida is plagued with two main issues:

1-) Since Hialeah Speedway closed, there are not many tracks that are willing to recieve drifters with open hands. The cost of renting any remaining tracks nearby, such as Homestead or Moroso, are beyond anything considered affordable to an average drifter.

2-) South Florida seems to have a lot greater issue with money than other places. Ter-Tech has promoted a lot of events and they had to cancel some of them already because they could never get enough people to sign up on time for the events, and they would always extend deadlines to help a fellow drifter.

Now, if you have ideas to come around those 2 problems, I'll be glad to hear it.... because like I said, I would love to be able to drift someplace nearby and not have to drive a couple hundred miles for a drift event.

well, hialeah speedway is not closed well not as closed as everyone thinks, just drive over on any given saturday and there are people out there racing their cars sure their car r beat u and everything but they trailer them over there so their has 2 be a way 2 4 us 2 use the track as well as far as ter-tech i think their problem had 2 be advertising because this is the first time i've heard of them, i 4one would have sign up 4 an event . As i said from the begining we still have hope.

Ter-Tech has had over 10 events in Hialeah Speedway alone. I've been driving around Hialeah Speedway every once in a while and given it's current condition, especially after the hurricane where it was left there to rot with all of the debris on the track, I highly doubt people are still racing there on Saturdays.

This is from FullOpp's proposal... and these are some of the events that Ter-Tech has held and we participated... you can still add some more where we were not able to participate. You can look in the gallery section for pictures of the events.

if u don't want 2 take my word 4 it go check it out, if u want i'll meet u there and we can both check it out, u r right it is a dump but it has 2 start somewhere, if ter-tech is still willing i'll sign up and i know some guys that r in 2. All i want is a legit place 2 drift, i have a 3year old daughter and a wife so i want 2 have fun the legit way.

No Reason to egg him on... What other forum did he post this in? I'm all for having an event in Miami but it takes a lot more then a parking lot to do it.. you need emergency services insurance etc..

thats why i was planning the event 4 march, but 2 be honest i'm starting 2 think it was a bad idea 2 even try this. The whole point of the meet was 2 see how many people would register for the event, that way i would know if every thing would covered 4 the event, but it looks like no one is really wants 2 be a part of it. I'm not in this 2 make money off of anyone i just want the drift scene pick up in miami, That's it .
