E-brakes

Bearcat

Driver
Are needed for real drifting.

Dont care what anyone else says, or claims they have done without an e-brake.

Can a mod please sticky this, and remove every post but mine.

Completely agree, anyone who claims to drift without an e-brake is going way too slow, and your not doing crazy transitions.

If I had started this thread the title would have been "testicles."

But I don't disagree with you.

Lol the funny thing is, he made this thread because of the street sessions thread when me and the sohc guy said that leo( aka sl00w00pki or something like that) didn't need a ebrake to hit up a little corner going like 25 30mph.... But he must be right tho, dk says the ebrake is used in drifting, so it must be true!

I don't think this, in this form is entirely true.;)
I've done several events on some tracks where i did not touched my e brake. I believe that there are some tracks that can be done perfect (100 points) without using the e brake in the right car.
But i agree, i don't think i would leave the house to any drifting event with a non working e brake.:bigthumbu

these reasons dont make sense to me.

i RARELY use ebrake in a transition
and
entry at sonoma... seattle... irwindale... and plenty more, are entered with clutch kicks and are quite fast.

"Im such an FD panzy with my e-brake now! Its so EZ!"

you guys dont get it.
Im not saying you should always have a hand on the e-brake and pull it every second you get.

Whos not gonna be using their e-brake at PBIR? Hmmm?

Ebrake is needed for awesome entrys and corrections. Without it, i dont see how a person can correct their line mid-drift.

Yea i said that, i never said i dont enter with it in my post. Thethread is very misleading to n00bs and shit. I drove a whole year without a cable even hooked up to the ebrake and did fine. Ebrake is easy to enter with and thats why FD drivers do it, for consistency.

PBIR is an exception because of the high speed coupled with the narrow entry to the track. If you tried that ebrake shit at like... Fuji in D1, you'd get smoked. Even still, you could enter at PBIR without an ebrake, just wouldnt be doing it from nearly 300ft. maybe like 150ft and a bit slower.

You can't say you cant drift without it, but not having a working one is like playing hockey on a constant powerplay. You might not have to have that 5th player to score a goal, but its a bit harder to do without that 5th player/ebrake.

I agree you need one good working for adjustments and some entries, and especially for tandem... IF you want to be competitive.

I <3 metahpors.

Whats an "E Brake"?

I think some in car footage would help clarify your points... and give me something to watch
