Obviously not, because you weren't approved for tandem, and dude stop get all offensive no one is out here to get you. Calm down and don't take things so serious, you'll be a happier person.
Your acting like the Tandem groups run close. They run like 10ft. from each other. Hence why I think anyone can tandem, no one runs close to each other.
The closest I've seen is from Ofc. Dangle and Red in the skidpad event twice. Not trying to make an argument with anyone or stating that I'm better. But stating a fact in my eyes.

Actually one of the reasons for this is the way some people are set up, and what they are drifting with. Ex: I dont have money to buy new tires, so i buy cheap used tires, if i get lucky some times i get myself some decent treadware (140-360) a lot of the time i am out there rocking out 500+ treadware. Even if my line is good, i cant keep up with a guy that has more grip than me. Juan and I had this same discusion once after a tandem, he was following and he was forced to slow down, just because the lack of grip i was having out of my POS used tires. If the car in front has more grip than you, you will have to sacrifice angle to keep up. What is drifting w/o angle? you tell me..... Another reason is how close is the starting line to the turn, everybody has their own way of launching their cars, and some people are slower than others... So by the time you get to the first turn you are either way ahead of the trailing car, or you are way behind the lead car.
I also tend to concentrate more on my driving and getting better than closing the gap with the guy in front of me. I am not getting judge, I payed to practice and to learn, not to be all D1 and trying to get my nose in the other guys door.
Josh like i said before man, calm down man. Listen to Benji (Bladder) he is explaining to you, the reasoning behind why it is done. Just go enjoy yourself, i am pretty sure if you show a high skill level, you will be moved to the tandem group. In my case, I dont have tires to tandem, and this might be my last drift event. So, i will be staying in the solo group, and enjoy it the most.
I know more or less why people don't get close to the driver that is leading. They aren't fast enough, tires, and they don't want to crash there cars. Don't get my wrong thats fine but why be in Tandem line up then? If we are going to portray drifting then might as well go with it the whole way and drift closer. And I know you probably speak about yourself or a hand full of drivers that can't get new tires or something with a good amount of thread. But most of the other drivers do get new tires, but then they fall in the category of not being fast enough or not wanting to damage there cars.
I know it will go back and forward but Ive always seen tandem as who can drive closer to the leading car, so leading car can mess up or show there skills. And as I said in my eyes it just doesn't show that in the countyline event or homestead and so on. That's why I say anyone can do it because of the distance that is kept. Forgot to mention. I know its to go out there and have fun but you can't go out there and just do it right? I mean I would love to go out there with a friend and try to get as close as we can to each other without caring what would happen to the car. As its been told many times and times before, if your going to get into drifting expect the worst because the car will get damaged.

i dont care about crashing, hence why i have a daily driver. I am one of the people who enters fast at countyline, clocked once at 51 mph in the KA. Tandem at countyline is ment to get the driver used to being there with another driver in the track. There are times to get close, if both drivers have enough control. Just because you are not door to door, doesnt make it a tandem. Some of the tandems at countyline the lead car is only 4-8 ft in front, and at times a drivers makes a mistake creating more room between both cars... hence why these events are practice, and all these drivers doing them are not professionals... is like asking for a College baseball player to hit a Roger Clemens fast ball. You should drive an event, I want to see how consistant you are.....
Look pro series are cutthroat competition, local comps are about fun.
Cant have much fun if your car is wrecked or you wreck your buddies car by accident. Nobody is doing anything wrong. Local events are about the drivers, not what the spectators want.
