pro class enters at almost 100mph, proam was getting like low-mid 80s at best i think

So you think it's the hp or are the pro-am guys kinda coasting in? So there not flat spotting there tires. It looks like a blast. You guys did great and represented Fla with awesomeness! :bigthumbu it came down to minor correction issues. And a few spin outs. But all in all a good day.

its the hp and the fact that the pros can hook up better and have more sideways grip. they enter almost same spot as jeremy/pat/miles/ryan but they slow down waaayyyy faster.

my entries were my weakest point, no doubt.

I saw this on wrecked:

Daijiro Yoshihara – 96mph (Top 4)
Vaughn Gittin Jr. – 95.9mph (Top 16)
Fredric Aasbo – 94mph (Top 16)
Chris Forsberg – 92mph (Top 16)
Eric O’Sullivan – 91mph (Top 16)
Toshiki Yoshioka – 90mph (Top 16)
Walker Wilkerson – 89.4mph (Top 16)
Kenneth Moen – 89mph (Top 32)
Justin Pawlak – 86mph (Top 16)
John Russakoff – 84mph (Top 4

I wasn't coasting one bit. Drag race until popping the handbrake. Not sure what my speeds were though. The run-up felt really short, and I kept peeling out down the hill. Pro cars got some serious HP to go that fast.

Yeah it was nuts watching them initiate at the same spot and not flying into the gravel.

Yeah Dai's entry in the final was pure sickness, watching from the side you drive in on shows just how crazy the entries are

They have purpose made drift tires for grip and lots of fuckin' smoke, of course they're gonna hook up better. That's most of the reason they can mash it and get crazy angle without whipping it.

If you all had the same tires and a good 500 horse, you'd be doin the same.

^ There's alot more to it than just tires.

Plus they are mandated to run tires that are available off the shelf at your local tire shop. They run the same stuff that you or I could buy.

Well I'm not positive for Formula D, but I know in the Maxxis BDC, they run purpose made tires.

And I also know it has to do with the coilovers and rebound resistance and a solid traction patch with not too much negative or positive camber.

Um

Yea the tires are available for anyone to buy, but can they afford to use the same tires I guess be a better question.

Hey Lowe? Is the horse shoe slick, it seemed like you kept going wide which led to your ultimate demise . Almost like the clay was sucking you in, like the force, even on ur qualifying runs.

purpose made tires? All tires are production tires just realy fing expensive. Pat runs identical falken rubber just smaller sizing due to less hp.

well they told the drivers they wanted them to ride the line on the outside of the horseshoe

as for tires, they have to run tires that are sold publicly. The everyday person could buy the tires they run. Wether or not you can afford to buy them is another matter. Point being they are not getting special tires made just to drift on. The magic is in the car setups and drivers.
