FD ProAM Vids

well they told the drivers they wanted them to ride the line on the outside of the horseshoe

as for tires, they have to run tires that are sold publicly. The everyday person could buy the tires they run. Wether or not you can afford to buy them is another matter. Point being they are not getting special tires made just to drift on. The magic is in the car setups and drivers.

Word!
That sucks cause from what I could tell being a little inside till halfway around the back seemed to work best, other wise your leaving the door open. But defiantly wide on the back to cut that angle down for the long stretch back.

purpose made tires? All tires are production tires just realy fing expensive. Pat runs identical falken rubber just smaller sizing due to less hp.

They're purpose made track tires, they may be available to the public, but they're made for drifting. Can you afford multiple sets of those for 1 event?

They are not purpose made track tires, those are called slicks. They are DOT legal street tires. Just because your (Our) broke asses can't afford to burn through 3 sets of them in one event does not make them special.

most people at pro am level now run on brand new tires for the whole event. Many choose to run cheaper stuff but some run the exact same shit as the pros. Trust me man tires are not the biggest difference between a car built by ASD and a car built in your buddies garage.

Are we seriously going to have an argument over the tires they use? They're described as high temperature motorsports grade compound tires.....Track tires. They're not running shit you buy at Wal-Mart.

They have purpose made drift tires for grip and lots of fuckin' smoke, of course they're gonna hook up better. That's most of the reason they can mash it and get crazy angle without whipping it.

If you all had the same tires and a good 500 horse, you'd be doin the same.

yea check facts man. and its more about the suspension setup than just tires.

This gave me a headache worse than drinking 4 loko's

They use regular tires that you can buy/order from any tire distributor.

I don't think it's an argument but it's the way your talking about them. There not "drift tires", what would be good for road course would be good for drift. I've slid on g-forces before just didn't have the power to breaker loose. Any how $$$ helps but setup and experience are far more important. That's what makes drifting so much better than drag. And always will.
Thought they only sold trailer tires at wal-mart.

Trust me my friend ive spent more in tires than you have on your car.

Keep digging.......

you know what classes of racing are called if they run the same tires they run in FD? Street tire classes. They are not racing tires just high grip street tires.

They maybe under the "Ultra high performance STREET TIRE" moniker but make no mistake if you are doing time attack or real road racing they wouldn't even look to use any of the tires they use in FD because they are street tires. They are not designed for ultimate grip.

Can you walk into discount tires and buy Hoosier A55 autocross compound Slicks right off the shelf? Hell no. Can you get Hankook RS-3's (Smokiest tire in FD) right off the shelf? Yes if they have your size.
