So yeah.. some guy I met.. said he drifts a 240?! WTf?! :)

LoL :) So really - When mid drift right b4 a transistion say for a figure 8... Do you guys (people that drift) ease up on teh throttle... or SLAM On it and use lightning fast hand woork? I cant seem to nail any transistions.. whats my problem? :bigthumbu :ugh:

Anyone wanna share their castor setups? Camber? :)

Thanks

Depends on the turn, the speed you're going, the condition of the tires, road surface, etc. Too many variables to consider.
Countyline connecting the 2nd turn

maybe drifting isn't your world afterall?? haha j/p :D

Mike instead of starting your figure 8s with a left start them backwards. Try the right hand turn and transfer into the left. It shuld help

I had maybe 250rwhp with Nexen CP641 205/50/16

With that setup, I wouldn't be too heavy on the throttle. I wouldn't "SLAM" on it, cause then I'd be asking to spin out. Try doing some low-angle transitions first then work your way up. Low throttle, easy steering. The problem is that depending on how fast/aggresive you enter the first turn, will determine how quick you have to react to the second turn.

MIKE FROM RIDING WITH YOU, YOUR TIMING IS A BIT OFF. iTS NOT THAT YOU STEERING IS SLOW, IT IS THAT YOU ARE THINKING AHEAD OF TIME, REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU RELEASE THE THROTTLE THE CARS NATURAL REACTION IS TO STRAIGHTEN UP SO USE THAT, LET OFF THE THROTTLE TAP THE BRAKE TO TRANSFER WEIGHT AND TURN TO THE CORNER YOU ARE AIMING TO, FROM THERE ON IT IS STEERING AND THROTTLE....

Oye cabron, se te hodio tu caps loque.

The way I do it (with 80whp) is I initiate normally and clear the turn and try to go a bit wide to extend it.....

Then.... at the end hit the gas full on to keep the rear end out and extent the slide as far out as possible......

Now there two things you can do at this point....

What I like to do is release the gas for a split second forcing my car to snap oversteer, once the car has rotated around toto make it around the second turn i hit the gas again to keep the rear end out and control it around the second turn....

From talkin to other more experienced and better drivers, they like a tecnique call "no lift transition" where they stay on the gas the whole time and just use steering work (instead of turning in just turn as far out until the car starts to turn around on its own) to make the car switch on its own..... altho it seems like a hard tecnique it only takes a couple of tries before u get comfortable with it.....

Usually tho u gotta be the judge of which tecnique to use appropriately and accordingly to the turn when determining each and every variable....

:D

Thanks for all the tips guys! I think my problem - like Rob said is my steering work but id like to know what some of u guys do in ur own cars - what works for u - maybe I can take that and better my technique

and if it doesn't work...chrome it...I think reason for your slow reactions is that you don't have jdm tyte shift knob...it's very important to have this jdm tyte shift knob...and ofcourse kenki style kouki is missing also :ugh:

/\/\/\ what??? I had the same problem the first couple of tries i took on the skid pad. I could NOT make the right hand drift transition back to the left...but i got used to the snap oversteer, since i would lift off the throttle and once the car started to snap back, applied appropriate counter-steer and throttle. I would really like to try the continuous throttle suggestion. Wish i was gonna be at countyline this weekend. :(
